වටවල පොලිස් වසමට අයත් කුයිල්වත්තේ ගසක දර කැපීමට ගිය පාසල් සිසුන් දෙදෙනෙකුට අධිබලැති විදුලි සැර වැදී කැ ගසමින් සිටියදී වටවල පොලිසියේ නිළධාරින් විසින් ක්ෂණිකව ක්රියාත්මක වී එම සිසුන් දෙදෙනා ඉන් මුදා ගෙන වටවල ප්රාදේශීය රෝහලට ඇතුලත් කර ඇත.
වටවල කුයිල්වත්ත දමිළ මහා විද්යාලයේ 7 සහ 8 වසරවල අධ්යාපනය ලබන අවුරුදු 12-13 වයස් කාණ්ඩවල පසුවන පාසල් සිසුන් දෙදෙනා තම නිවසට ඉහළින් වු ලදු කැලැවක ගසක වියලි තිබූ දර කැපීමට ගසට නගින අවස්ථාවේ ගසට ඉහළින් ඇදතිබූ අධිබලැති විදුලි රැහැන් පද්ධතියක් ගසේ ගැටීම නිසා ගස දිගේ විදුලිය කාන්දු වී ඇත.
විදුලි සැර වැදී කෑ ගසමින් සිටි පාසල් සිසුවා සම්බන්ධයෙන් එම වතුයායේ වතු කම්කරුවන් එම මාර්ගයේ මාර්ග රාජකාරියේ නියැලී සිටි වටවල පොලිසියේ රථවාහන අංශයේ පො.කො. සංජිව (84586) නිළධාරියාට දැනුම් දීමෙන් පසු එම නිළධාරියා ක්ෂණිකවම වටවල පොලිසියේ ස්ථානාධිපති ප්රධාන පොලිස් පරික්ෂක චන්දන ගමගේ මහතා මගින් නෝටන්බ්රිජ් විදුලි පාරිභෝගික මධ්යස්ථානයේ විදුලි අධිකාරිවරයා වෙත දැනුම් දි එම අධි බලැති විදුලි රැහැන් පද්ධතියේ විදුලි බලය ක්ෂණිකව විසන්ධි කිරිමෙන් පසු විදුලි සැර වැදී ළමුන් දෙදෙනා ඉන් මුදාගෙන රෝහල් ගත කර ඇත.
විදුලි සැර වැදී සිටි එක් ළමයෙකුගේ සිරුරේ ස්ථාන කිහිපයක් පිලිස්සුම් තුවාල තිබු බවත්, අනෙක් සිසුවාට කම්පනය පමණක් තිබූ බවයි පොලිස් ස්ථානාධිපතිවරයා කියා සිටියේ.
විදුලි රැහැක් පද්ධතියේ ගැටෙමින් තිබු ගසේ අතු කපා දැමීමට විදුලි බල මණ්ඩලයේ නිළධාරින් පියවර ගෙන ඇත.

Two Schoolboys Rescued from Electric Shock Incident in Kuilwatta
In a harrowing incident in Kuilwatta, part of the Wattala police division, two schoolboys were rushed to hospital after suffering electric shocks from a high-voltage line while attempting to cut branches from a tree.
The victims, aged 12 and 13, were students in grades seven and eight at the Thamil Maha Vidyalaya. They climbed a tree located above their residence to remove dead branches when they inadvertently came into contact with an overhead power line, leading to severe electric shocks.
Alerted by local plantation workers, police official Sanjiva from the Wattala traffic division quickly responded to the scene. Upon receiving the report, he informed Chief Inspector Chandana Gamage, the officer in charge of the Wattala police station. The electricity supply was immediately shut off in coordination with the local power authority, ensuring the safety of the area.
Once the power was cut, the two boys were freed from the tree and swiftly transported to the Wattala Central Hospital for treatment. It was revealed that one of the boys sustained multiple burn injuries across his body, while the other experienced minor symptoms from the shock.
Authorities from the local electricity board are now taking measures to ensure public safety by addressing the hazardous power lines that are situated near trees.
