‘හමෝටම යාඥා කරන්නැයි අගවිනිසුරු කියනවා.. ඔහු පාස්ටර් කෙනෙක්ද..’ - දයාසිරි

 අගවිනිසුරුවරයාගේ ඇතැම් ප්‍රකාශ සහ හැසිරීම් විවේචනයට ලක් කරමින් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී දයාසිරි ජයසේකර මහතා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේදී අදහස් දැක්වීය.

අගවිනිසුරුවරයා සියලු දෙනාට යාඥා කරන ලෙස පවසා ඇති බවත්, ඔහු අධිකරණ නිලධාරියෙකුද නැතහොත් පාස්ටර්වරයෙකුද යන්න පිළිබඳව ගැටලුවක් පවතින බවත් මන්ත්‍රීවරයා මෙහිදී සඳහන් කළේය.

සභාව අමතමින් මන්ත්‍රීවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධීනත්වය සහ ගෞරවය රැකගත යුතු ඉහළම නිලධාරියා මෙවැනි ප්‍රකාශ නිකුත් කිරීම මගින් අධිකරණ පද්ධතිය කෙරෙහි මහජනතාව තුළ පවතින විශ්වාසය පළුදු විය හැකි බවයි.

"අගවිනිසුරුවරයා කියනවා හැමෝටම යාඥා කරන්න කියලා. මට තියෙන ප්‍රශ්නය ඔහු අගවිනිසුරුද නැත්නම් පාස්ටර් කෙනෙක්ද කියන එකයි. අධිකරණය ක්‍රියාත්මක විය යුත්තේ නීතිය සහ ව්‍යවස්ථාව මත මිස මෙවැනි පෞද්ගලික විශ්වාසයන් මත නොවෙයි," යනුවෙන් ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් පැවසීය.

Parliamentarian Critiques Chief Justice's Recent Remarks

In a spirited address in Parliament, MP Dayasiri Jayasekara challenged the recent statements and conduct of the Chief Justice, sparking a lively debate regarding the independence of the judiciary.

He claimed that while the Chief Justice has advocated for collective cooperation, there seems to be a troubling ambiguity surrounding his status as either a legal authority or a pastor, raising questions about the implications of such duality.

Addressing the assembly, Jayasekara emphasized the need to maintain the integrity and independence of the judiciary. He cautioned that statements made by the highest official in the judicial system could undermine public confidence in the legal framework.

"The Chief Justice tells everyone to offer prayers. My concern is whether he is acting as a Chief Justice or as a pastor. It is essential that the judiciary operates based on law and constitution, not merely on personal beliefs,” he further articulated.

Jayasekara underscored the necessity of prioritizing the rule of law and the constitutional framework over religious or personal convictions within judicial proceedings, reinforcing the critical distinction between subjective beliefs and established legal standards.
