මන්ත‍්‍රී වැටුප වැඩි කලේ නෑ.. වැඩි වූ ඉන්ධන මිලට ඉන්ධන දීමනාව ගැලපුවා විතරයි..- නලින්ද

පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රීවරුන්ගේ වැටුප් කිසිදු අයුරකින් ඉහළ නැංවීමට රජය පියවර ගෙන නොමැති බව කැබිනට් ප්‍රකාශක අමාත්‍ය නලින්ද ජයතිස්ස මහතා අවධාරණය කරයි.

කැබිනට් තීරණ දැනුම්දීමේ මාධ්‍ය හමුවේදී මාධ්‍යවේදියෙකු නැගූ ප්‍රශ්නයකට පිළිතුරු දෙමින් අමාත්‍යවරයා මේ බව සඳහන් කළේය.

මන්ත්‍රීවරුන්ට සහ රාජ්‍ය නිලධාරීන්ට ලබා දෙන ඉන්ධන දීමනාව පදනම් කරගනිමින් ඇතැම් පාර්ශවයන් විසින් මන්ත්‍රී වැටුප් වැඩි කර ඇති බවට අසත්‍ය ප්‍රචාර පතුරුවා හරින බව අමාත්‍යවරයා මෙහිදී පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

එහෙත් එවැනි කිසිදු වැටුප් වැඩිකිරීමක් රජය විසින් සිදු කර නොමැති බවත්, පවතින තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳව ජනතාව නොමඟ නොයන ලෙසත් අමාත්‍යවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

"50,000න්, 60,000න්, 100,000න් හරි කීයකින් වත් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රීවරුන්ගේ වැටුප් වැඩිකරලා නෑ. පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රීවරුන්ට සහ අනෙකුත් රාජ්‍ය නිලධාරීන්ට ලබා දෙන ඉන්ධන ප්‍රමාණයක් පවතිනවා. ඒ ඉන්ධන ලීටර් ප්‍රමාණයට සාපේක්ෂව ඒක දීමනාවක් හැටියට එකතු වෙනවා. මේක සාමාන්‍යයෙන් ඒ මොහොතේ පවතින තෙල් මිලත් එක්ක තමයි ගණනය කිරීම් කරන්නේ. 

හැබැයි 2026 මාර්තු මාසේ ඉඳලා ඉන්ධන මිල ඉහළ යාමත් එක්ක මේ ප්‍රමාණය ගණනය කරලා පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රීවරුන්ට, රජයේ නිලධාරීන්ට සිදුවුණානම් ඒක විශාල වැඩිවීමක් වෙනවා. ඒ නිසා 2026 මාර්තු මාසේ 1 වැනිදා තිබුණු තෙල් මිල පදනම් කරගෙන තමයි ගණනය කිරීම් කළේ. මාර්තු, අප්‍රේල්, මැයි, ජුනි දක්වා ඒ කාලේ තෙල්මිලට සාපේක්ෂව පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රීවරුන්ට සහ රජයේ නිලධාරීන්ට ඒ ගණන් හැදුවානම් මීට වඩා ඉහළ ප්‍රමාණයක් ඔවුන්ට හිමිවෙනවා. නමුත් අපි මාර්තු 1 වැනිදා පැවැති මිල අනුව ගණන් හැදුවා ඒ චක්‍රලේඛය අපි ජූලි මාසේ 1 වැනිදා අවසන් කළා. 

ජූලි මාසේ 1 වැනිදා ඉඳලා ගණන් හැදෙන්නේ. 1 වැනිදාට වෙළෙඳපොලේ පවතින මිල අනුව. අඩු වුණොත් අඩු වෙනවා වැඩි වුණොත් වැඩි වෙනවා. ඒ අනුව තමයි තෙල් මිල වැඩි වුණ නිසා අර අමතරව එකතු වෙච්ච ගණනක් ගණන් හදලා පෙන්වලා තියෙන්නේ."

No Plans to Increase Parliamentarians' Salaries, Minister Confirms

In a definitive statement, Minister Nalinda Jayatissa emphasized that the government has no intentions of raising salaries for parliamentarians at this time. His remarks came during a media briefing in Colombo, where he addressed questions from journalists regarding the current compensation of lawmakers.

He pointed out that recent claims suggesting an increase in pay for parliamentarians based on fuel allowances were unfounded. "There has been no raise in salaries by the government, and we urge the public not to be misled about the existing situation," he stressed.

According to Jayatissa, the fuel allowances provided to parliamentarians and state officials are adjusted according to prevailing fuel prices. However, he clarified that the government has not increased salaries in any capacity: "No additional amounts, whether it be 50,000, 60,000, or 100,000, have been allocated to parliamentarians' salaries." The fuel allowance is calculated in relation to the volume of fuel provided and is influenced by current market rates.

Looking ahead, Jayatissa mentioned that with the potential rise in fuel prices projected for March 2026, calculations could result in significant increases for parliamentarians and government officials if conducted based on future fuel rates. "As of now, we have based our calculations on the oil prices from March 1, and concluded the relevant adjustments by July 1 of this year,” he explained.

He added that from July 1 onward, allowances will be recalculated according to market prices on that date, indicating transparency and fluctuation based on current prices. "If prices drop, allowances will decrease; if prices rise, they will increase," he concluded, reiterating the government's commitment to ensuring economic feasibility in its compensation policies.
