අඛණ්ඩ විදුලි සැපයුම අර්බුදයක.. ජල විදුලිය සීමා වෙයි..

 පුනර්ජනනීය බලශක්ති ප්‍රභවයන් මගින් උත්පාදනය කෙරෙන විදුලිය මිලදී ගැනීම සඳහා වන නව පෝෂක ගාස්තු (Feed-in Tariffs) කාණ්ඩ තුනක් යටතේ ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කිරීමට ශ්‍රී ලංකා මහජන උපයෝගිතා කොමිෂන් සභාව පියවර ගෙන තිබේ.

මෙම නව මිල ගණන් හෙට සිට ක්‍රියාත්මක වන අතර එය 2027 පෙබරවාරි 24 වනදා දක්වා වලංගු වනු ඇත.

කොළඹදී පැවැති මාධ්‍ය හමුවකට එක්වෙමින් ශ්‍රී ලංකා මහජන උපයෝගිතා කොමිෂන් සභාවේ සභාපති මහාචාර්ය කේ.පී.එල්. චන්ද්‍රලාල් මහතා සඳහන් කළේ, ඉදිරියේදී ඇතිවිය හැකි එල් නිනෝ දේශගුණික තත්ත්වය හේතුවෙන් ජල විදුලි උත්පාදනය සීමා වීමේ අවදානමක් පවතින බවයි.

එවැනි තත්ත්වයක් තුළ අඛණ්ඩ විදුලි සැපයුමක් සහතික කිරීම සඳහා පුනර්ජනනීය බලශක්ති ක්ෂේත්‍රය දිරිමත් කිරීම අත්‍යවශ්‍ය බවත්, තවදුරටත් තාප විදුලි උත්පාදනය මත පමණක් යැපීම උචිත නොවන බවත් ඔහු අවධාරණය කළේය.

New Feed-in Tariffs for Renewable Energy in Sri Lanka Effective Tomorrow

The Sri Lanka Public Utilities Commission is set to implement new feed-in tariffs for electricity generated through renewable energy sources. This initiative will categorize the tariffs into three distinct groups aimed at enhancing the purchase of renewable electricity.

These new rates will come into effect tomorrow and will remain valid until February 24, 2027.

During a media briefing in Colombo, the Commission's Chairman, Professor K.P.L. Chandralal, highlighted concerns about potential limitations on hydroelectric generation due to future El Niño weather patterns. He pointed out the need for a sustained supply of electricity and emphasized the importance of bolstering the renewable energy sector in light of such challenges.

Professor Chandralal stressed that dependence solely on thermal power generation would not be a feasible long-term solution for the country's energy needs.
