අස්වැසුම ප්‍රතිලාභ සදහා අයදුම්කර එය නොලද සහ අස්වැසුම ගිණුමට මුදල් බර නොවූ වතුකරයේ විශාල පිරිසක් (24) දින නෝර්වුඩ් ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලය ඉදිරිපිට පවතින අයහපත් කාලගුණයද නොතකා රැදී සිටින අයුරු අප කැමරාවේ සටහන් විය.

සතියේ සදුදා දින පමණක් ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලවල අයදුම්කරුවන්ට සහ අස්වැසුම ගිණුම්වලට මුදල් නොලද අයට එම ගිණුම පරික්ෂා කර ගැනීමට අවස්ථාව ලබා දී ඇති බවයි නෝර්වුඩ් ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ නිළධාරියෙකු කියා සිටියේ.

නෝර්වුඩ් සහ තලවකැලේ ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලවල අස්වැසුම ප්‍රතිලාභීන්ගේ මුදල් ඔවුන්ගේ ගිණුමට බැර නොකර එම කාර්යාලයේ නිළධාරින් විසින් සිදු කල මුදල් වංචාවක් නිසා මෙසේ අස්වැසුම අයදුම්කරුවන් සහ ප්‍රතිලාභීන් තම ගිණුම පරික්ෂා කර ගැනීමට ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාල වෙත පැමිණ සිටින බවයි එම නිළධාරියා කියා සිටියේ.

Delay in Granting Benefits Leaves Many Without Funds

At the Norwood Divisional Secretariat, a significant number of plantation workers have gathered to inquire about their pending entitlement applications and the lack of funds in their accounts, despite adverse weather conditions casting a shadow over the proceedings. The scene, captured by our cameras, illustrates the impact of these delays on the community.

A local official confirmed that only on Mondays can applicants check their accounts and seek information regarding their benefits. This limited timeframe has left many anxious as they await updates on their fund releases.

It has come to light that recipients of benefits at the Norwood and Talawakelle Divisional Secretariats have faced obstruction in accessing their funds due to a recent financial fraud incident within the office. Consequently, applicants have been urged to visit the Divisional Secretariat to verify their accounts.

In an effort to increase transparency, the official announced plans to display a list of all beneficiaries within the Division. This initiative is set to be implemented in the first week of September 2026, with the aim of ensuring that individuals within the Divisional Secretariat's jurisdiction are informed and can access their rightful benefits.
