ඉදිරි වසර තුනක කාලය තුළ වී අස්වැන්න ඉහළ නැංවීම මගින් ගොවීන්ගේ ලාභය වැඩිකිරීමට රජය සැලසුම් කර ඇති බව කෘෂිකර්ම, වාරිමාර්ග සහ ග්‍රාමීය ආර්ථික කටයුතු නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය ටී.බී. සරත් මහතා පවසයි.

 උත්සවයකට එක්වෙමින් අමාත්‍යවරයා සඳහන් කළේ, සිය නිෂ්පාදන සඳහා සාධාරණ මිලක් ඉල්ලා ගොවීන් මේ වන විට උද්ඝෝෂණවල නිරත වන බවයි.

තමන් ලබන ආදායම ජීවන වියදම පියවා ගැනීමට ප්‍රමාණවත් නොවන බව ගොවීන්ගේ අදහස වී තිබේ.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, වී කිලෝවක මිල ඉහළ දැමීමට වඩා අක්කරයකින් ලබාගන්නා අස්වැන්න ප්‍රමාණය වැඩි කිරීම කෙරෙහි රජයේ අවධානය යොමුව ඇති බව අමාත්‍යවරයා මෙහිදී පෙන්වා දුන්නේය. 

ඒ අනුව දැනට අක්කරයකින් ලැබෙන කිලෝග්‍රෑම් 2000ක පමණ අස්වැන්න, ඉදිරි වසර තුන ඇතුළත කිලෝග්‍රෑම් 2500ත් 3000ත් දක්වා ඉහළ නැංවීමට අපේක්ෂා කරන බව ද ඔහු පැවසීය.

නිෂ්පාදන ධාරිතාව ඉහළ යාම හරහා නිෂ්පාදන පිරිවැය අවම කර ගොවියාට වැඩි ලාභයක් අත්කර දීම රජයේ මූලික අරමුණ බව ද නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් අවධාරණය කළේය.

Sri Lanka's Government Aims to Boost Rice Production and Farmer Profits

The Sri Lankan government is strategizing to enhance rice yields over the next three years, with the objective of increasing farmers' profits, as disclosed by T.B. Sarath, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Rural Economic Affairs.

During a recent festival, Sarath highlighted that farmers are currently engaged in protests demanding fair prices for their produce.

Farmers have expressed concerns that their current earnings are insufficient to cover living expenses.

However, the Minister indicated a shift in focus from simply raising the price per kilogram of rice to increasing the quantity of harvests per acre.

Currently, the average yield per acre stands at around 2000 kilograms, with aspirations to elevate this figure to between 2500 and 3000 kilograms within the next three years.

Sarath emphasized that the primary objective of the government is to minimize production costs through increased productivity, thereby enabling farmers to achieve greater profitability.
