සාගර අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇත්තේ 'රජුට එරෙහිව ජනතාව කුපිත කිරීම' චෝදනා මත

 ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොදුජන පෙරමුණේ ප්‍රධාන ලේකම් සාගර කාරියවසම් මහතා මධ්‍යම අපරාධ විමර්ශන කාර්යාංශය (CCIB) මගින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇත්තේ  රජුට එරෙහිව ජනතාව කුපිත කිරීමේ චෝදනාවද අනුව බව  හිටපු අමාත්‍ය උදය ගම්මන්පිල මහතා සඳහන් කරයි,

දණ්ඩ නීති සංග්‍රහයේ 113, 120, 186 සහ 486 යන වගන්ති යටතේ මෙම අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීම සිදුකර ඇති බවත්. විශේෂයෙන්ම ද ගම්මන්පිල මහතා පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

තමන් අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්නා බව කල්තියා දැන සිටි සාගර කාරියවසම් මහතා, සිය ජංගම දුරකථනය පවා රැගෙන නොවිත් ඉතා සන්සුන්ව පොලිසිය හමුවට පැමිණි බව ද ඔහු පැවසීය.

තමන් මහ බැංකු බැඳුම්කර වංචාව, ඩොලර් මිලියන ගණනක මූල්‍ය වංචා හෝ ගල්අඟුරු වංචා වැනි කිසිදු දූෂිත ක්‍රියාවකට සම්බන්ධ නොමැති බැවින් ඕනෑම පරීක්ෂණයකට බියක් නොමැතිව මුහුණ දීමට සූදානම් බව කාරියවසම් මහතා ප්‍රකාශ කළ බව ද ගම්මන්පිල මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.

SLPP General Secretary Arrested Over Allegations of Instigating Public Unrest

Former minister Udaya Gammanpila has revealed that Sagara Kariyawasam, the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), was taken into custody by the Central Criminal Investigation Bureau (CCIB) on charges of inciting public unrest against the government.

The arrest was carried out under various sections of the Penal Code, specifically 113, 120, 186, and 486, as highlighted by Gammanpila. He underscored the severity of these charges as they pertain to public safety and order.

Kariyawasam, who was aware of the impending arrest, approached the police calmly without even carrying his mobile phone, demonstrating his peaceful demeanor during the incident, as per Gammanpila's account.

Furthermore, Kariyawasam expressed no fear regarding any investigations, asserting that he is not involved in any corrupt practices, such as the Central Bank bond scam, large-scale financial fraud, or coal smuggling. He is prepared to face any inquiries surrounding these matters, Gammanpila reiterated.
