ශ්‍රී ලංකා ක්‍රිකට් හිටපු තේරීම් කමිටු සභාපති ප්‍රමෝදය වික්‍රමසිංහ මහතා, තමන් හා එකඟ වූ නිල කාලය අවසන් වීමට පෙර අත්තනෝමතික ලෙස තනතුරෙන් ඉවත් කිරීමට එරෙහිව ශ්‍රී ලංකා ක්‍රිකට් ආයතනයෙන් වන්දි ඉල්ලා අධිකරණ ක්‍රියාමාර්ග ගැනීමට සූදානම් වන බව වාර්තා වේ.

ප්‍රමෝදය වික්‍රමසිංහ මහතාගේ සභාපතිත්වයෙන් යුත් ඉන්දික ද සේරම්, තරංග පරණවිතාන, විනෝදන් ජෝන් සහ රසාංජලී ද අල්විස් යන මහත්ම මහත්මීන්ගෙන් සමන්විත හිටපු තේරීම් කමිටුව වසර දෙකක ධුර කාලයක් සඳහා පත් කර තිබුණි.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, එම කාලය අවසන් වීමට පෙර කපිල විජේගුණවර්ධන මහතාගේ සභාපතිත්වයෙන් යුත් නව තේරීම් කමිටුවක් පත් කිරීමට ක්‍රිකට් බලධාරීන් පියවර ගෙන තිබේ.

මෙම ඉවත් කිරීමේදී හිටපු තේරීම් කමිටුවට නිසි කරුණු දැක්වීමක් හෝ සාධාරණ පියවර අනුගමනය කිරීමක් සිදු කර නොමැති බවට චෝදනා එල්ල වී ඇත.

මෙම තත්ත්වය මත ප්‍රමෝදය වික්‍රමසිංහ සහ ඉන්දික ද සේරම් යන මහත්වරුන් විසින් මීට පෙර ශ්‍රී ලංකා ක්‍රිකට් ආයතනය වෙත එන්තරවාසි යොමු කර තිබිණි.

ඉන් අනතුරුව ක්‍රිකට් පරිවර්තන කමිටුව මැදිහත් වී හිටපු තේරීම් කමිටුවේ සභාපතිවරයා හැර සෙසු සාමාජිකයන් සිව්දෙනා සමඟ එකඟතාවකට පැමිණ ඇත. එහිදී එක් සාමාජිකයකුට රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 32 බැගින් (බදු අඩු කිරීමෙන් පසු රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 24 බැගින්) වන්දි මුදලක් පිරිනමා ඇති අතර, තරංග පරණවිතාන සහ විනෝදන් ජෝන් යන මහත්වරුන්ට ක්‍රිකට් ආයතනයේ වෙනත් තනතුරු ද පිරිනමා තිබේ. මෙම වන්දි ලබා දීමේදී ඔවුන්ගෙන් ක්‍රිකට් ආයතනයට එරෙහිව නඩු නොපවරන බවට පොරොන්දු පත්‍ර ද ලබාගෙන ඇති බව වාර්තා වේ.

එසේ වුවද, හිටපු සභාපති ප්‍රමෝදය වික්‍රමසිංහ මහතා සමඟ එවැනි කිසිදු සාකච්ඡාවක් හෝ එකඟතාවක් ඇති කර ගැනීමට ක්‍රිකට් ආයතනය පියවර ගෙන නොමැත.

මේ හේතුවෙන් තමන්ගේ ඉතිරි ධුර කාලය සඳහා හිමිවිය යුතු මාසික දීමනා සහ අහේතුකව ඉවත් කිරීම නිසා සිය කීර්තිනාමයට සිදුවූ හානිය වෙනුවෙන් වන්දි ඉල්ලා නඩු මගට පිවිසීමට ඔහු තීරණය කර ඇතැයි සැලවේ.

Former Chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee to Seek Legal Action

Pramodaya Vikramasinghe, the former chairman of the Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee, is reportedly preparing to take legal action demanding compensation from Sri Lanka Cricket. This comes in response to his removal from office before the official term had concluded, allegedly without due process.

Vikramasinghe’s committee comprised notable figures including Indika de Seram, Tharanga Paranavitana, Vinodan John, and Rasanjali Alwis, and was appointed for a two-year term. However, cricket authorities have moved swiftly to establish a new selection committee under the chairmanship of Kapila Wijegunewardene before the conclusion of the original term.

Accusations have arisen that the former committee was dismissed without proper justification or fair procedures. In light of this situation, both Pramodaya Vikramasinghe and Indika de Seram had previously forwarded complaints to Sri Lanka Cricket.

Following their complaints, an intervention by the Cricket Transformation Committee led to a settlement involving the four remaining members of the former selection committee, aside from Vikramasinghe. Reports indicate that one member received a compensation package of 3.2 million rupees (approximately 2.4 million after tax deductions), while other positions within Sri Lanka Cricket were also offered to Tharanga Paranavitana and Vinodan John. As part of the compensation agreement, they were required to provide a waiver regarding litigation against Sri Lanka Cricket.

However, no discussions or agreements have been reached with Pramodaya Vikramasinghe. This absence of engagement has led him to decide to pursue legal action, claiming compensation for the loss of his legitimate monthly allowances and the damage to his reputation caused by his abrupt dismissal.
