22 සංශෝධනයට එරෙහි වන්නේ දේශපාලන කුහකකම නිසයි..

22 වැනි ආණ්ඩුක්‍රම ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධනයට එරෙහිව අධිකරණය හමුවට පෙත්සම් ඉදිරිපත් කරමින් කටයුතු කරන්නේ ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදය හෝ අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධීනත්වය සුරැකීමට නොව, විපක්ෂයේ පවතින දේශපාලන කුහකකම සහ නීතිය හමුවේ සිරගත වීමට ඇති බිය නිසා බව ශ්‍රී ලංකා කම්කරු ජනතා පෙරමුණ පවසයි.

හැටන් නගරයේ පැවැති විශේෂ මාධ්‍ය සාකච්ඡාවකට එක්වෙමින් එම පෙරමුණේ සභාපති චමීර පෙරේරා මහතා මේ බව සඳහන් කළේය. 

මෙම මාධ්‍ය හමුව සඳහා ශ්‍රී ලංකා කම්කරු ජනතා පෙරමුණේ ප්‍රධාන ලේකම් (ප්‍රාදේශීය සභා මන්ත්‍රී) ඩීන් නෝයෙල් ජනාස්ටන්, ජාතික සංවිධායක මිලන් පී. පෙරේරා සහ භාණ්ඩාගාරික ජුලියානා යන මහත්ම මහත්මීන් ද එක්ව සිටියහ.

එහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් අදහස් දැක්වූ සභාපති චමීර පෙරේරා මහතා සඳහන් කළේ, රාජපක්ෂ පවුලට සදාකාලිකව බලයේ සිටීමට මගපෑදූ 18 වැනි ආණ්ඩුක්‍රම ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධනය ගෙන ආ අවස්ථාවේදී නිහඬව සිටි පිරිස්, (01) දින 22 වැනි සංශෝධනය හමුවේ ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදයේ සුපර්මෑන්ලා ලෙස පෙනී සිටින බවයි. 

එදා මුළු රටම පවුල් පාලනයකට යටත් කරද්දී කිසිදු පෙත්සමක් ඉදිරිපත් නොකළ ජී.එල්. පීරිස් ඇතුළු පිරිස් අද අධිකරණය හමුවට යන්නේ ජනතා නිදහස වෙනුවෙන් නොවන බව ද ඔහු පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදය හෝ ජනතා අයිතිවාසිකම් සුරැකීම වෙනුවට වත්මන් විපක්ෂයේ ඇතැම් දේශපාලනඥයන් සිය පටු දේශපාලන අරමුණු වෙනුවෙන් කටයුතු කරන බව හෙළිදරව් කළ ඒ මහතා, ඉදිරි මාස කිහිපය ඇතුළත සිදුවිය හැකි නීතිමය පියවර සහ සිරගතවීම්වලින් බේරීම සඳහා මෙම පිරිස් ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධනයට එරෙහිව මෙලෙස කටයුතු කරන බවට ද චෝදනා කළේය.

Opposition Voices Concerns Over Constitutional Amendment's Impact on Democracy and Legal Security

The Sri Lanka People's Front has voiced concerns regarding the motivations behind the legal challenges to the proposed 22nd constitutional amendment. Party leaders argue that these legal actions are not driven by a commitment to safeguard democracy or the independence of the judiciary, but rather stem from the political deceit within the opposition and fears of legal repercussions.

Chameera Perera, the party's chairman, made these remarks during a special media discussion held in Hatton. He emphasized that the ongoing court appeals are aimed at preserving the political status quo rather than genuinely promoting democratic principles.

Joining him at the media briefing were key figures such as Dean Noel Janasthan, the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka People's Front, National Organizer Milan P. Perera, and Treasurer Juliana.

Perera further elaborated, pointing out that the same groups that remained silent during the introduction of the 18th amendment—an amendment that paved the way for the Rajapaksa family's prolonged grip on power—now present themselves as champions of democracy in opposition to the 22nd amendment. He highlighted their hypocrisy, noting that they did not file any appeals when the nation was under family rule.

He remarked that individuals like G.L. Peiris, who at that time failed to raise their voices against authoritarianism, are now approaching the courts not in defense of public freedom but to further their own political agendas.

Perera also accused certain politicians within the current opposition of acting in accordance with their own political motivations, rather than in the interest of democracy or the rights of the people. He suggested that their legal maneuvers against the constitutional amendment are merely attempts to evade potential legal consequences and maintain their influence in the political arena in the coming months.
