මා දරුවන් ස්පර්ශ කලේ වඳින්න එපා කියන්නයි.. පොහොට්ටු සභාපති දරුවෝ 400ක් දුෂණය කලේ..- TB

අනිසි ලෙස දැරියන් ස්පර්ශ කලේ යයි එල්ල වන චෝදනාවන්ට නියෝජ්‍ය ඇමති ටී.බී. සරත් මහතා ප‍්‍රතිචාර දක්වයි.

බීබීසී පුවත් සේවය වෙත ඒ මහතා පල කර ඇත්තේ අලුතින් ඉදි කළ නිවාස විවෘත කිරීමේ උත්සවවලදී දරුවන් තමන්ට බුලත් ලබා දී වැඳීමට උත්සහ කළ අවස්ථාවේදී, එය වැළැක්වීමේදී මෙලෙස එම දරුවන් ස්පර්ශ කළ බව ය.

"ඔය දරුවා, බුලත් අත දෙනවා, බුලත් අත දීලා, දරුවාගේ බුලත් අත මම ගන්නවා, අරගෙන දරුවා මට ඊළඟට වඳින්න හදනකොට, මම වඳින්න එපා පුතේ කියලා, අත් දෙකෙන් උස්සනවා. 

මගේ එහා පැත්තේ හිටපු දෙන්නට ඒ දරුවා වැන්දා. මම කිව්වා, වඳින්න එපා පුතේ, දේශපාලනඥයින්ට වඳින්න ඕන නැහැ ඕගොල්ලෝ කියලා, අම්මා තාත්තට වඳින්න කියලා, මම අත් දෙකෙන් අල්ලලා අයින් කළා. මම ඔච්චරයි කියපු දේ. 

ඉස්කෝලේ යන දරුවන්ගෙන් මම අහන්නේ, 'දැන් ඔයාට ලස්සන ගෙයක් තියෙනවා නේ ද? ඉස්කෝලේ යනකොට යාළුවන්ට කියන්න පුළුවන්'. ඔය වගේ ඉතින් අපි ගියා ම ඒ දරුවන්ගේ සතුටට අපි කතාබහ කරනවා.

ඇත්තට ම මානුෂීය ප්‍රශ්නයක් නේ, මැටි ගෙයක ඉඳලා පාසල් යන පුංචි දරුවෙක්, එයා මොන තරම් පීඩාවකට පත් වෙනවා ද, එතකොට ඔය ළමාරක්ෂාව ගැන ලියන අය ඒ දරුවෝ විඳින දුක කවදාවත් ම දැකලා නැහැ.

ඒ පේන දේ වෙන දේශපාලන දෘෂ්ඨිකෝණයකින් බලලා තමයි ගොඩක් අය ලියලා තියෙන්නේ. මට නම් දැනෙන්නේ. ඒ අයට තියෙන මොකක් හෝ ඉරිසියාවක් තමයි වැඩියෙන්.

ළමාරක්ෂක සහ ඒ අයිතිවාසිකම් වෙනුවෙන් පෙනී ඉන්න සංවිධාන මේකේ පෙන්වලා දෙන එක නීත්‍යනුකූල පැත්තෙන් මට පිළිගන්න පුළුවන්. ඒ කියන්නේ ඒක නීතියක් නේ, ඒක ඒගොල්ලෝ පෙන්වන එක. ඒකට මම අභියෝග කරනවා නෙවෙයි, මගේ ඇත්ත හෘදය තියෙන්නේ ඔය කියන ක්‍රියාවලියක් නෙමෙයි දරුවන්ට ඇත්තට ආදරය කරපු එකක් ඔය තියෙන්නේ .

මම මොන ම දරුවෙකුගෙන්වත් එහෙම වැඳුම් ගන්න කෙනෙක් නෙවෙයි. එහෙම ඕනේ නැහැ නේ. මොකට ද දේශපාලනඥයින්ට දරුවෝ වඳින්නේ. ඒක තමයි මම එපා කියන්නේ. ඔය හැම ෆොටෝ දෙක තුනේ ම, ඒ දරුවන්ගේ අතින් අල්ලගෙන මම කියන්නේ වඳින්න එපා කියලා.

Deputy Minister Responds to Allegations Involving Child Interaction

Deputy Minister T.B. Sarath has addressed allegations regarding inappropriate interactions with children during a recent housing inauguration ceremony. He emphasized that during the event, children attempted to offer him ceremonial items, which led to misunderstandings about physical contact.

In an interview with BBC News, he described how children would approach him, attempting to present offerings, only to be met with a firm response. "When a child extends their hand to me, I take it and then say ‘please don’t do that’ while gently lifting their hands away," he explained.

He recounted a moment when he intervened, instructing a child not to pay homage to politicians but rather to their parents. "I told them not to bow to politicians; that respect is for your parents," he stated, highlighting his intention to redirect the children’s behavior amid the misunderstanding.

Reflecting on the housing project and its impact on the children, Sarath expressed his motivation to ensure their happiness and the significance of providing them with a beautiful home. "I ask the school-going children if they can now tell their friends about their beautiful new home," he mentioned, emphasizing that conversations surrounding their wellbeing are crucial.

Addressing broader social issues, he noted the hardships faced by children from underprivileged backgrounds, particularly those living in inadequate housing. “A child who walks to school from a mud house — think about the pressure they endure. Those advocating for child protection should take a moment to witness their struggles," he asserted.

He criticized the narrative around children's rights as often coming from a political standpoint, stating that many contributors lack a true understanding of the children's lived experiences. "It seems to me that their critiques stem from some form of personal bias," he remarked.

While acknowledging the legal rights organizations advocating for children's welfare, he underscored that his intentions revolve around genuine love and care for children, rather than mere bureaucratic processes. "I am not one to endorse inappropriate gestures towards children. Politicians should never make children bow to them," he declared firmly.

Sarath pointed out discrepancies in past political actions, noting the prevalence of photographs involving public figures from previous administrations who had faced accusations. He expressed concern about the double standards in media narratives concerning children and politicians, particularly reflecting on the lack of accountability for incidents of child abuse in the past. "Those who write now about children being disrespected should remember the silence towards abuses that occurred before. What was documented then?" he said, shedding light on a troubling history regarding political accountability.
