කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ පාලනාධිකාරිය විසින් සිදුකළ විභාග අක්රමිකතා හේතුවෙන් තමන්ගේ කාලය, ශ්රමය සහ මුදල් නිරපරාදේ නාස්ති වූ බව පවසමින් එම විශ්වවිද්යාලයේම ශිෂ්යයෙකු විසින් පවරා ඇති රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 50ක වන්දි නඩුවකට අදාළව, උපකුලපතිවරයා ඇතුළු නිලධාරීන් හත් දෙනෙකුට ලබන 10 වනදා අධිකරණයේ පෙනී සිටින ලෙස නුගේගොඩ දිසා විනිසුරු ආර්.ඒ.එන්. රාජපක්ෂ මහතා අද නොතීසි නිකුත් කළේය.
කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ කළමනාකරණ හා මූල්ය පීඨය මගින් පවත්වනු ලබන ව්යවසායකත්ව හා කුඩා ව්යාපාර කළමනාකරණ උසස් ඩිප්ලෝමා පාඨමාලාව හදාරන සනත් කුමාර අතුකෝරළ මහතා විසින් මෙම නඩුව ගොනු කර තිබේ.
මුලින් විභාගය අසමත් කළ සිසුන් පිරිසක්, යළි විභාගයක් පැවැත්වීමකින් තොරව පසු අවස්ථාවක සමත් කළේ කෙසේද යන්න පිළිබඳව මෙහිදී විශ්වවිද්යාල පාලනාධිකාරියෙන් ප්රශ්න කර ඇති අතර, එම ක්රියාවලිය හරහා තමන්ට අගතියක් සිදුව ඇති බව පෙත්සම්කාර ශිෂ්යයා පෙන්වා දෙයි.
මෙම නඩුවේ වගඋත්තරකරුවන් ලෙස නම් කර ඇති කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ වත්මන් උපකුලපති ඉන්දික මහේෂ් කරුණාතිලක, හිටපු උපකුලපති එච්.ඩී. කරුණාරත්න, පීඨාධිපති එච්.එම්. නිහාල් හෙන්නායක, අංශ ප්රධානී සමිකා අබේධීර මනෝරත්න, කථිකාචාර්යවරුන් වන සී.එල්. දියගුආරච්චි, ඩබ්ලිව්.පී. ප්රේමරත්න සහ විභාග අංශයේ අතිරේක ලේඛකාධිකාරී වජිරා හපුහින්න ජයරත්න යන මහත්ම මහත්මීන්ට මෙන්ම නීතිපතිවරයාට ද මෙම නොතීසි භාර දෙන ලෙස විනිසුරුවරයා නියෝග කළේය.
අදාළ චෝදනා සම්බන්ධයෙන් කරුණු දැක්වීමට ඇත්නම් ලබන 10 වනදා අධිකරණය හමුවේ පෙනී සිටින ලෙස දන්වමින් ලියාපදිංචි තැපෑලෙන් සහ අධිකරණ පිස්කල්වරයා මාර්ගයෙන් මෙම නොතීසි නිකුත් කිරීමට පියවර ගෙන ඇත.
පාලනාධිකාරියේ අත්තනෝමතික ක්රියාකලාපය හේතුවෙන් තමන් දැඩි අපහසුතාවයට පත්ව ඇති බව පවසන පෙත්සම්කරු, ඒ වෙනුවෙන් රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 50ක වන්දියක් අය කර දෙන ලෙස අධිකරණයෙන් වැඩිදුරටත් ඉල්ලා සිටී.
Colombo University Officials Summoned Over Exam Irregularities Lawsuit
A student from Colombo University has filed a lawsuit seeking a staggering Rs. 50 million in damages, claiming that exam irregularities led to a waste of his time, effort, and money. The district judge, R.A.N. Rajapaksha, has ordered seven officials, including the deputy vice-chancellor, to appear in court on the 10th of this month regarding the matter.
The lawsuit was initiated by Sanath Kumara Athukorala, a student enrolled in the university's Advanced Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management program, under the Faculty of Management and Finance.
Questions have arisen concerning how a group of students who initially failed their exams managed to later succeed without re-sitting the tests. The university's administration has been challenged by the student to clarify this process, highlighting that it has brought him significant distress and perceived unfairness.
Among those named as respondents in the lawsuit are the current deputy vice-chancellor, Indika Mahesh Karunathilaka, former deputy vice-chancellor H.D. Karunarathna, faculty head H.M. Nihal Henanayake, department chief Samika Abeydeera Manorathna, and lecturers C.L. Diyagunarachchi, W.P. Premarathna, and the examination department’s additional registrar, Vajira Hapuhinna Jayaratne. The judge has also directed the Attorney General to receive this notice.
The notice has been issued via registered mail and through the court messenger, instructing all parties to present themselves in court on the scheduled date to address the allegations.
The plaintiff has expressed that the administrative actions of the university have severely impacted him, further urging the court to grant the significant compensation sought in the lawsuit.

ReplyDeleteමුලින් විභාගය අසමත් වූ ශිෂ්යයින්ව අවශ්ය නම් සමත් කරන්ඩ විශ්ව විද්යාල ආචර්ය වරුන්ට නීතිමය හැකියාවක් තිබෙනවා. ඒක ලෝකේ ඕනෑම විශ්ව විද්යාලයක තිබෙන දෙයක්. ඇමරිකාවේ විශ්ව විද්යාල වල විෂයයක් සම්පූර්ණ කිරීමෙන් උපරිම වසර 2කට යටත්ව අදාල ශිෂ්යයෙක් වෙත ලබා දුන් අක්ෂර-ප්රථිඵලය (letter grade) වෙනස් කල හැකියි, අදාල ශිෂ්යයා ඒ වන විට උපාධිය ලබා පිටවී ගොස් නැත්නම්. අදාල ශිෂ්යයා උපාධිය ලබාගෙන පිටවී ඇත්නම් තත්වය සංකීර්ණයි, ඇතැම් විශ්ව විද්යාල වල එම වෙනස් කිරීම් ලබා දෙන්නේ නෑ එවන් අවස්ථා වල. මෙම අවස්ථාව විශ්ව විද්යාල ආචාර්ය වරුන්ට ලබා දී තිබෙන්නේ ඇයි කියන දේ විවාදයට ලක් කල හැකියි. නමුත් යම් ඇගයීම් කොටසකට (assignment component) වැරදීමකින් අඩු හෝ වැඩි ලකුණු දැමීමක් කලා නම් (ලකුණු සටහන් කිරීමේ දෝෂයක් (උදා: 90ක් වෙනුවට 9ක් දැමීම), ආචාර්ය වරයාගේ පිළිතුරේ වරදක් තිබී පසුව එය නිරීක්ෂණය වී සිදු කල නිවැරදි කිරීමක්, සිදු කිරීමට මේ හරහා අවස්ථාව හිමි වෙනවා.
ReplyDeleteකෙසේ නමුත් මෙහි වඩාත් වැදගත් අවශ්යතාවය වන්නේ නිබන්ධනයක සඳහන් දෑ යම් ශිෂ්යයකු විසින් වෙනත් යම් තැනකදී ප්රසිද්ධ කර ඇති අන් කෙනෙකුගේ නිබන්ධනයක කරුණු වංචනික ලෙස ලබාගෙන තමාගේ කරුණු මෙන් හඟවා සිය නිබන්ධනයට ඇතුලත් කොට තිබේ නම් (plagiarism), එය හසු කර ගැනීමට කල් යාමත්, ඒ සඳහා කල් ගත වූ පසුව වුවත් දඬුවම් ලබා දීමට ඉඩ හසර ලබා දීමත් ය. එවන් අවස්ථාවක මුලින් සමත් කල සිසුවකු පසුව අසමත් කල හැකියි.
Students who did not pass the exam should be given an opportunity to check (not re-scrutinize) the answer papers along with the Lecturer concern to avoid the mistakes next time like in the German Unis,.
ReplyDeleteIt's always given in the universities around the world. In Sri Lanka, students do not often reach out to the professors, in case if they fail. However, any students who reach out to professors, will never be turned down. Always, the professors are willing to discuss every single question where the students made mistakes. One likely reason why the students do not reach out to the professors is that during the "ragging" season, the seniors kind of demonize the professors, and the new comers are discouraged to contradict the professors (discussing a point is not contradicting, however, many students in Sri Lanka, perhaps due to cultural reasons, treat presenting a counter opinion as disrespectful contradiction with the professors). This tradition continues at later stages as well. Also, it being free education possibly makes student mentality not very strong to speak up to the professors. However, when they do, they are treated well by, I would say 99% of the professors of Sri Lanka.
