මෙසේ දියේ ගිලි ජීවිතක්ෂයට පත් වී ඇත්තේ නානුඔය ඒඩිම් බරෝ වත්තේ පදිංචි 23 හැවිරිදි පෙරුමාල් තිවාකරන් සහ හපුතලේ පදිංචි අම්ලගන් ඩික්සන් නැමති 24 හවිරිදි තරුණෙයකි.
හපුතලේ සිට නානුඔය ඒඩ්ම්බරො වත්තේ ඥාති නිවසකට පැමිණි තරුණයා පවුලේ සාමාජිකයන් කිහිප දෙනෙකු සමග රදැල්ල ග්ලාස්ගෝ වතුයායේ නානුඔය ඇළට බැස දිය නාමින් සිටියදී හපුතලේ සිට පැමිණි තරුණයා දියේ ගිලි අතුරුදහන් වීමත් සමග ඒම තරුණයා බේරා ගැනිමට දියට පැන්න අනිත් තරුණයාද දියේ ගිලි අතුරුදහන්ව සිටියදි නානුඔය ඇලේ ගඹුරු වලක තිබි නානුඔය පොලිසියේ නිළධාරින් සහ ප්රදේශවසින් ඒක්ව සිරුර දෙක ගොඩගත් බවයි පො ලිස් ස්ථානාධිපතිවරයා කියා සිටිෙය්.

Tragic Drowning Incident Claims Lives of Two Young Men in Nanu Oya
A tragic incident unfolded on September 5 when two young men drowned in the Nanu Oya River, as confirmed by the area's police chief. The victims were identified as 23-year-old Perumal Thivakaran from the Edimbara Watta area and 24-year-old Amelgan Dickson from Haputale.
The two had visited a relative's house in Nanu Oya and were reported to have been swimming in the river together with several family members. While they were enjoying the water near the Glasgow estate, one of them went missing in the river. In a desperate attempt to rescue his friend, the other young man also vanished beneath the surface.
Local police and authorities conducted a search and successfully retrieved the bodies of both victims from the depths of the river. The police chief stated that the bodies have been sent to the Nuwara Eliya District Hospital for post-mortem examinations as part of ongoing investigations into the tragic event.
This incident serves as a somber reminder of the dangers associated with swimming in currents and is a significant loss to the community.
