ශ‍්‍රී පාද මළුව ආසන්න කසල කන්දේ විශාල කඩාවැටීමක්..

 මධ්‍යම කදුකරයේ බටහිර බැවුම් ප්‍රදේශයන්ට පැවති අයහපත් කාලගුණික තත්වයන් මත ශ්‍රිපාද කන්දේ පැවති කසල එම මාර්ගයට කඩා වැටිමකට ලක්ව ඇත.

මෙය නාය යාමක් ලෙස පෙනුනද ශ්‍රිපාද වන්දනාවේ පැමිනෙන පිරිස් විසින් රැගෙන විත් ශ්‍රිපාද කන්දේ දමා යන ප්ලාස්ටික් බෝතල් පොලිතින් මළු ඇතුළු කසල ශ්‍රිපාද මාර්ගයට කඩා වැටිමක්  බව පොලිසිය පවසයි.

මේ පිලිබදව කරන ලද විමසිමකදි අදහස් දැක්වු හැටන් ජේශ්ඨ පොලිස් අධිකාරි ප්‍රදිප් වීරසේකර මහතා පවසනුයේ  සෑම වර්ශයකම ශ්‍රිපාද වන්දනා වාරය ආරම්භ විමට පෙර කරනු සාකච්චාවලදි ශ්‍රිපාදස්ථානාධිපති ස්වාමින් වහන්සේ ඇතුළු විවිධ නිලධාරින් ශ්‍රිපාදස්ථානයට ප්ලාස්ටික් බෝතල්, පොලිතින් මළු හා කසල බැහැර නොකරන ලෙස විවිධ ඉල්ලිම් කලද බොහෝ පිරිස් තමන් රැගෙන ප්ලාස්ටික් බෝතල් පොලිතින් මළු ඇතුළු විවිධදේ ශ්‍රිපාදස්ථානයේ දමා යන බවත්ය.

මෙසේ එකතුව තිබු කසල ශ්‍රිපාද මාර්ගයට මෙසේ කඩා වැටිකට ලක්ව ඇති බවත් මෙය නාය යාමක් ලෙස පෙනුනද  ශ්‍රිපාද කන්ද නාය යාමක් නොව කසල මාර්ගයට කඩා වැටිමට ලක්ව ඇති බවත් එම කසල ගොඩවල් ඉවත් කිරිමට ගුවන් හමුදා නිලධාරින්, යුධ හමුදා නිලධාරින්, පොලිස් නිලධාරින් ඇතුළු පිරිස් ඉදිරියේදි කටයුතු කරන බවත්ය.

Collapse of Pile of Waste on Sri Pada Path Following Inclement Weather

Severe weather conditions have caused a significant pile of trash on the Sri Pada mountain path in the western regions of the Central Highlands to collapse. While it may appear to be merely an inconvenience, authorities confirm that the situation has arisen from the accumulation of plastic bottles and other litter left by pilgrims visiting the sacred site.

During an investigation into the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police Pradeep Weerasekara highlighted concerns that this is not an isolated issue. Despite frequent discussions with various officials, including the chief priest of Sri Pada, urging visitors to refrain from littering the area with plastic bottles and other garbage, many continue to disregard these requests.

The amassed waste has now dangerously eroded the walking paths leading to Sri Pada. Although the situation might seem like a mere hazard, it actually poses a significant risk as it jeopardizes the safety of pilgrims. Efforts to clear the debris are underway, with personnel from the Air Force, Army, and police mobilized to facilitate the removal of the accumulated refuse.

As authorities work to address this pressing issue, the need for greater awareness amongst visitors regarding the importance of maintaining the sanctity and cleanliness of this revered site is more crucial than ever.
