හිටපු නගරාධිපති රිමාන්ඩ්..

බණ්ඩාරවෙල මහ නගර සභාව තුළ සිදුවූ බව කියන මූල්‍ය වංචාවකට අදාළව කූට ලේඛන සකස් කිරීමේ චෝදනාව මත අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් එම මහ නගර සභාවේ හිටපු නගරාධිපති ජනක නිශාන්ත රත්නායක මහතා ලබන 16 වැනිදා දක්වා රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාරගත කිරීමට බණ්ඩාරවෙල මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය නියෝග කළේය.

අදාළ මූල්‍ය අක්‍රමිකතාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් සිදුකෙරෙන දීර්ඝ විමර්ශනවලින් අනතුරුව හිටපු නගරාධිපතිවරයා අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමෙන් පසු මහේස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා මෙම නියෝගය නිකුත් කර තිබේ.

මෙම වංචා සිද්ධියට අදාළව මීට පෙර අවස්ථාවකදී ද බණ්ඩාරවෙල මහ නගර සභාවේ සේවකයින් තිදෙනෙකු අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන අධිකරණය හමුවට පමුණුවා තිබිණි. 

සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් පොලිසිය වැඩිදුර විමර්ශන මෙහෙයවයි.

පළාත් පාලන ආයතන විගණන වාර්තාවක් මඟින් අනාවරණය කරගෙන තිබූ පරිදි, නගර සභාව සතු රුපියල් 7,253,000ක් සහ රුපියල් 927,000ක් වටිනා කඩ කාමර පැවරීමේදී මෙම මූල්‍ය අක්‍රමිකතාව සිදුව තිබේ.

එම විගණන නිර්දේශ පදනම් කරගනිමින් බණ්ඩාරවෙල මහ නගර සභාවේ නාගරික කොමසාරිස්වරයා විසින් පොලිසියට කරන ලද පැමිණිල්ලකට අනුව මෙම විමර්ශන ආරම්භ කර තිබිණි.

අදාළ පැමිණිල්ල සම්බන්ධයෙන් ප්‍රකාශයක් ලබාදීම සඳහා හිටපු නගරාධිපතිවරයා පොලිසිය හමුවට පැමිණි අවස්ථාවේදී ඔහු අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇත.

Former Bandarewela Mayor Arrested for Financial Fraud

Janak Nishantha Rathnayake, the former mayor of Bandarewela, has been remanded until the 16th of this month in connection with allegations of financial misconduct within the municipal council. This decision was made by the Bandarewela Magistrate's Court following the preparation of forged documents related to the case.

The arrest came after extensive inquiries into the financial irregularities. Once presented before the court, the magistrate ordered the remand of the ex-mayor in response to the evidence gathered during the investigations.

This incident is not the first of its kind, as previously, three employees of the Bandarewela Municipal Council were also taken into custody concerning the same fraud allegations, and they were subsequently brought before the court.

The police are continuing to conduct further investigations into the matter.

According to reports from the Provincial Local Government Audit, the financial misconduct involved a sum of Rs. 7,253,000 and the fraudulent allocation of a space valued at Rs. 927,000.

The investigations were initiated based on a complaint filed by the Urban Commissioner of the Bandarewela Municipal Council, in light of the audit findings.

During the police inquiry related to the complaint, the former mayor was apprehended while providing a statement.
