එහිදී පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් අමතමින් ඕමල්පේ සෝභිත නාහිමියන් පෙන්වා දුන්නේ, පිට පළාත්වලින් පැමිණි පිරිසක් විවිධ රෝග සුව කරන මුවාවෙන් ජනතාව නොමඟ යැවීමට උත්සාහ කරන බවට තොරතුරු ලැබී ඇති බවයි.

අදාළ පිරිස සතුව රෝග සුව කිරීම සඳහා රජයෙන් අනුමත නිසි සහතික පත්‍ර තිබේ නම් ජනතාව ඔවුන් වෙත යොමු කළ හැකි බවත්, එසේ නොමැතිව ජනතාව මුළා කිරීමට ඉඩ දිය නොහැකි බවත් උන්වහන්සේ සඳහන් කළහ.

එමෙන්ම එම පිරිසෙන් කරුණු විමසා සත්‍ය තොරතුරු දැනගැනීම සඳහා හිමිවරුන් කිහිප නමකට හෝ ශ්‍රවණාගාරයට ඇතුළු වීමට අවස්ථාව ලබා දෙන ලෙසත්, මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් තමන් කළ පැමිණිල්ල මත වහා විමර්ශනයක් අරඹන ලෙසත් උන්වහන්සේ ඉල්ලා සිටියහ.

එම අවස්ථාවේදී පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් ප්‍රකාශ කර ඇත්තේ කිසිදු පාර්ශ්වයකට බලහත්කාරයෙන් ශ්‍රවණාගාරයට ඇතුළු වී සාමය කඩ කිරීමට ඉඩ දිය නොහැකි බවයි.

එහි පැමිණ සිටින ජනතාව සිය කැමැත්තෙන් පැමිණ ඇති බවත්, බලහත්කාරයෙන් කිසිවෙකුත් ගෙන්වා නොමැති බවත් නිලධාරීන් පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, ඉදිරිපත් කළ පැමිණිල්ලට අනුව අදාළ පිරිසගෙන් වහා ප්‍රකාශ සටහන් කරගෙන ඉදිරි පරීක්ෂණ පවත්වන බවට පොලිසිය සංඝරත්නය හමුවේ සහතික විය.

අනතුරුව මහවැලි අධිකාරිය ඉදිරිපිටදී පිරිත් සජ්ඣායනා කරමින් මිත්‍යා මතවලින් බැහැරව ජනතාවට යහපත් බුද්ධියක් පහළ වේවායි ප්‍රාර්ථනා කළ සෝභිත හිමියන් ඇතුළු මහා සංඝරත්නය එම ස්ථානයෙන් නික්ම ගියහ.

Police Prevents Group Led by Sobitha Thera from Entering Archaeological Site Amid Protest

Tensions flared at the Hambilipitiya archaeological site when a group, including Ven. Omalpitiye Sobitha Thera, attempted to enter, accusing unqualified individuals of deceiving the public under the pretense of providing healing. Police intervened to block access, heightening the situation significantly.

Prior to the group's arrival, Hambilipitiya police had already taken measures to barricade entry points to the site to maintain order.

During the standoff, Ven. Sobitha pointed out that they had received reports of outsiders coming to the area, allegedly attempting to mislead the public with false promises of curing various ailments.

He emphasized that should these individuals possess proper government-issued certifications for healing, it would be appropriate for the public to approach them. However, he insisted that without such qualifications, they should not be allowed to operate.

Ven. Sobitha further requested that police allow him and several other monks to enter the site to verify the claims of these individuals, urging for an immediate investigation based on their complaints.

In response, police officials asserted that they could not permit any party to forcibly enter the site or disrupt the peace.

Authorities clarified that those gathered had come voluntarily and that there was no coercion involved in their presence.

Despite the heightened emotions, the police assured that they were recording statements from the concerned group for further inquiry, providing a sense of structure to the protest.

Ultimately, the gathering of monks, led by Ven. Sobitha, departed the area after offering prayers for the public to be free from harmful misconceptions.
