නිවසේ විදුලිය විසන්ධි කිරීමට පැමිණි ලංකා විදුලිබල මණ්ඩලයේ සේවකයෙකුට පහර දුන්නේ යැයි කියන සිද්ධියක් සම්බන්ධයෙන් හලාවත ප්රාදේශීය සභාවේ එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂ මන්ත්රීවරයෙකු (23) අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් බව මාදම්පේ පොලිසිය පවසයි.
පහරකෑමට ලක් වූ විදුලිබල මණ්ඩල සේවකයා තුවාල ලබා හලාවත මහ රෝහලේ ප්රාථමික සත්කාර ඒකකයට ඇතුළත් කර ඇති අතර, ඔහු මේ වන විට එහි ප්රතිකාර ලබමින් පසුවේ.
පොලිස් විමර්ශනවලදී අනාවරණය වී ඇත්තේ, අදාළ ප්රාදේශීය සභා මන්ත්රීවරයා පදිංචිව සිටින නිවසේ විදුලි බිල්පත් ගෙවීම පැහැර හැර තිබීම හේතුවෙන් එහි විදුලි සැපයුම විසන්ධි කිරීම සඳහා හලාවත විදුලිබල මණ්ඩලයේ නිලධාරියෙකු ඊයේ දහවල් එම නිවස වෙත ගොස් ඇති බවයි.
එම අවස්ථාවේදී විදුලිය විසන්ධි කිරීමට පැමිණි බව දැනුම් දීමත් සමඟ මන්ත්රීවරයා සහ විදුලිබල මණ්ඩල නිලධාරියා අතර උණුසුම් බහින්බස් වීමක් සිදුව තිබේ.
අනතුරුව ප්රාදේශීය සභා මන්ත්රීවරයා විසින් එම නිලධාරියාට පහරදී ඇති බවට පොලිසියට පැමිණිල්ලක් ලැබී ඇති අතර, ඒ අනුව ක්රියාත්මක වූ පොලිසිය සැකකාර මන්ත්රීවරයා අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇත.
අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇත්තේ මාදම්පේ, පැරණි නගරයේ පදිංචි 28 හැවිරිදි ප්රාදේශීය සභා මන්ත්රීවරයෙකි.
මන්ත්රීවරයා හලාවත මහේස්ත්රාත් අධිකරණය වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට නියමිත බව පොලිසිය වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කරයි.
Local Politician Arrested After Assaulting Electricity Board Worker
A member of the United National Party representing the Halavatha Pradeshiya Sabha has been arrested following an incident involving the assault of a Sri Lanka Electricity Board employee who was attempting to disconnect power at a residence. The arrest was confirmed by the Madampe Police.
The assaulted worker suffered injuries and has since been admitted to the Halavatha District Hospital's emergency care unit, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Investigations revealed that the electricity board official visited the residence to disconnect the power supply due to unpaid bills. The situation escalated yesterday afternoon as the politician and the electricity board official engaged in a heated argument upon notification of the impending disconnection.
Subsequently, a complaint was lodged with the police alleging that the politician assaulted the official during this confrontation. Acting on this complaint, law enforcement apprehended the local council member.
The arrested individual is a 28-year-old local government official residing in the Old City of Madampe.
Authorities have indicated that the politician will be presented before the Halavatha Magistrate's Court shortly.
