 හිටපු කතානායක චමල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා අද (08) පෙරවරුවේ අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ චෝදනා විමර්ශන කොමිෂන් සභාව හමුවේ පෙනී සිටියේය.

ඒ ශ්‍රී ලංකන් ගුවන් සමාගම සඳහා එයාර් බස් යානා මිලදී ගැනීමේදී සිදුවූ බව කියන මූල්‍ය අක්‍රමිකතා සම්බන්ධයෙන් සිදුකෙරෙන විමර්ශනවලට අදාළව ප්‍රකාශයක් ලබාදීමටයි.

2010-15 රජය සමයේ සිදුවූ මෙම මතභේදාත්මක ගුවන් යානා මිලදී ගැනීමේ ගනුදෙනුව සම්බන්ධයෙන් දීර්ඝ කාලයක සිට විමර්ශන ක්‍රියාත්මක වන අතර, ඊට අදාළව කරුණු විමසීම සඳහා ඒ මහතාට අද දින කොමිසම හමුවේ පෙනී සිටින ලෙස දැනුම් දී තිබුණි.

2013 වසරේදී ශ්‍රී ලංකන් ගුවන් සමාගම සඳහා එයාර් බස් යානා 14ක් මිලදී ගැනීමට අදාළව අත්සන් කරන ලද ගිවිසුම්වලදී ඇමරිකානු ඩොලර් මිලියන ගණනක අල්ලස් ලබා ගැනීම් සහ මූල්‍ය අවභාවිතයන් සිදුව ඇති බවට ජාත්‍යන්තර මට්ටමින් චෝදනා එල්ල විය.

විශේෂයෙන්ම බ්‍රිතාන්‍යයේ බරපතළ වංචා විමර්ශන කාර්යාලය (SFO) මගින් සිදුකළ අනාවරණයන් හරහා මෙම ගනුදෙනුවේදී ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ඉහළ පෙළේ නිලධාරීන්ට අල්ලස් ලබා දී ඇති බව හෙළිදරව් විය.

මෙම සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් මීට පෙර ශ්‍රී ලංකන් ගුවන් සමාගමේ හිටපු ප්‍රධාන විධායක නිලධාරී කපිල චන්ද්‍රසේන මහතා සහ ඔහුගේ බිරිඳ ඇතුළු පිරිසකට එරෙහිව ද නීතිමය පියවර ගෙන තිබින.

සිදුවීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත‍්‍රී නාමල් රාජපක්‍ෂ මහතා මේ වන විට රක්‍ෂිත බන්ධනාගාරගත කර සිටී.

Former Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa Testifies Before Commission on Alleged Corruption

Chamal Rajapaksa, the former Speaker of Parliament, appeared before the Commission Investigating Allegations of Bribery or Corruption today (August 8) to provide testimony regarding financial irregularities associated with the purchase of aircraft for SriLankan Airlines.

This inquiry pertains to controversial transactions made during the 2010-2015 government era, which have been under investigation for an extended period. Rajapaksa was summoned to the Commission today to clarify details surrounding these dealings.

In 2013, agreements for the procurement of 14 Airbus aircraft for SriLankan Airlines came under scrutiny, amid allegations of significant bribes amounting to millions of US dollars and financial malpractice. These claims have garnered international attention, with the UK's Serious Fraud Office (SFO) revealing that high-ranking officials in Sri Lanka received bribes in connection with these deals.

Legal action has already been taken against former SriLankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena and his wife, as part of the ongoing investigations into this matter.

Additionally, MP Namal Rajapaksa, who was arrested in connection with the case, is currently being held in a protected remand facility.
