ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොදුජන පෙරමුණ විසින් ලබන 12 වැනිදා අනුරාධපුර නගරයේදී  පැවැත්වීමට නියමිත ජනරැලිය අනිවාර්‍යෙන් පවත්වන බවත් එම වේදිකාවට හිටපු ජනපති මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතා පැමිණීමට නියමිත බවත් හිටපු අමාත්‍ය ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොදුජන පෙරමුණේ මෙහෙයුම් ප්‍රධානී ජොන්ස්ටන් ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා පැවසීය.

හිටපු ජනාධිපති මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතාද සහභාගී වීමට නියමිත නමුත් ඒ මහතා ජනතාව ඇමතීම සඳහා ප්‍රධාන වේදිකාවට ගොඩනොවී වේදිකාව ඉදිරිපිට ජනතාව අතර හෝ වෙනත් පීඨිකාවක රැඳීසිටිමින් රැලියට එකතු වීමට තීරණය කර ඇති බවත් ජොන්ස්ටන් ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා පැවසීය.

අල්ලස් කොමිසම විසින් අත් අඩංගුවට ගනු ලැබූ නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව ලබන 18 වැනිදා දක්වා රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාරගත කෙරුණු තත්වයක් තුළ ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොදුජන පෙරමුණ මෙම තීරණය ගෙන ඇති බව ජොන්ස්ටන් ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් පැවසීය.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa to Attend Key Public Rally in Anuradhapura

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has confirmed that a significant public rally will be held in Anuradhapura on December 12, with former President Mahinda Rajapaksa expected to make an appearance. Johnston Fernando, the party's operations chief, emphasized the importance of this event for their supporters.

Although Rajapaksa will be present, he has decided not to speak from the main stage. Instead, he will interact with the crowd from a separate platform, ensuring he engages with attendees while remaining physically apart from the central proceedings, according to Fernando.

This decision follows the recent developments involving Namal Rajapaksa, who has been remanded in custody until the 18th after being presented to the court by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption. Fernando pointed out that these circumstances have influenced the decisions surrounding the rally.
