 කථානායක ජගත් වික්‍රමරත්න මහතා සිය ධුරයෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වීමට සූදානම් වන බවට සමාජ මාධ්‍ය ජාල ඔස්සේ වාර්තා පළවෙයි.

නමුත්, ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් මෙතෙක් කිසිදු නිල තහවුරු කිරීමක් සිදු කර නොමැත.

කථානායකවරයාට එරෙහිව ලැබී ඇති පැමිණිලි මත  අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ චෝදනා විමර්ශන කොමිෂන් සභාව විසින් විශේෂ පරීක්ෂණයක් ආරම්භ කර තිබීම හේතුවෙන්, ඔහු තවදුරටත් කථානායක ධුරයේ කටයුතු කිරීම සදාචාරාත්මක නොවන බවට විවිධ පාර්ශ්වවලින් දිගින් දිගටම එල්ල වන දැඩි විරෝධය හා බලපෑම හමුවේ ඔහු මෙම තීරණයට එළඹීමට ඉඩ ඇති බවට එම සමාජ මාධ්‍ය වාර්තාවල දැක්වේ.

This speculation comes in the wake of ongoing inquiries into allegations of bribery and misconduct against him, initiated by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

Despite the mounting public discontent and pressure from various quarters regarding the ethical implications of his continued tenure, there has been no official confirmation from the Speaker’s office about his potential resignation.
