රටක මහජන ආරක්ෂාව යනු හුදෙක් පොලිසිය හෝ ත්‍රිවිධ හමුදාව ප්‍රමුඛ ආරක්ෂක අංශ මඟින් පමණක් ක්‍රියාත්මක කළ හැක්කක් නොවන බවත්, ඒ සඳහා රාජ්‍ය නිලධාරීන්, දේශපාලන අධිකාරිය මෙන්ම සමස්ත මහජනතාවගේද සක්‍රීය දායකත්වය අත්‍යවශ්‍ය බවත් ජාතික ජන බලවේගයේ පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රීනී නිලන්ති කොට්ටහච්චි මෙනවිය පවසයි.

මන්ත්‍රීවරිය පෙන්වා දෙන්නේ, ජනතාව කේන්ද්‍ර කරගත්, නීතියේ ආධිපත්‍යය සුරකින රාජ්‍යයක් බිහිකිරීම වත්මන් රජයේ ප්‍රමුඛ අරමුණ බවයි.

වත්මන් සමාජය හමුවේ පවතින මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය උවදුර, සංවිධානාත්මක අපරාධ, කාන්තා හා ළමා ආරක්ෂාව පිළිබඳ ගැටලු මෙන්ම පාසල් පද්ධතිය ආශ්‍රිතව පැනනැගී ඇති අභියෝග ජයගැනීමට නම් මෙම පාර්ශ්ව ත්‍රිත්වයේම ඒකාබද්ධ මැදිහත්වීම අත්‍යවශ්‍ය සාධකයක් බව ඇය සඳහන් කළාය.

එමෙන්ම, වත්මන් පාලනය යටතේ නීතිය සැමට එක හා සමානව ක්‍රියාත්මක වන බව අවධාරණය කළ මන්ත්‍රීවරිය, දේශපාලනඥයන් හෝ උසස් නිලධාරීන් වේවා නීතිය හමුවේ කිසිදු විශේෂත්වයක් නොමැති බවද කියා සිටියාය.

වරදකරුවන් වී නීතියෙන් බේරී විදෙස්ගතව සැඟවී සිටින පුද්ගලයන්ට පවා නීතිය නිසි පරිදි ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමට ආරක්ෂක අංශ හා නීතිය ක්‍රියාත්මක කරන ආයතන මේ වන විටත් ඉතා දැඩි අවධානයෙන් යුතුව කටයුතු කරමින් සිටින බවද ඇය වැඩිදුරටත් අවධාරණය කළාය.

Public Safety Requires Collective Effort, Says Parliamentarian

National People's Power Parliamentarian Nilanti Kottahachchi emphasized that public safety cannot solely rely on law enforcement agencies or the military. She insists that active participation from public officials, political authorities, and the entire populace is essential to ensuring security in the country.

Kottahachchi highlighted that establishing a state that prioritizes the rule of law is a primary objective of the current government, focusing on a citizen-centered approach.

Addressing current challenges within society, including drug abuse, organized crime, and the safety of women and children, she stated that a unified intervention from all three sectors is crucial to overcoming these hurdles, particularly concerning issues that have arisen within the education system.

The Parliamentarian also insisted that under the present administration, the law is applied equally to all. She noted that there should be no special privileges for politicians or senior officials when it comes to legal matters.

Kottahachchi further asserted that law enforcement agencies are diligently working to ensure that the law is properly executed, even for individuals who may evade justice and seek refuge abroad.
