එසේ නොකර හන්දි ගානේ ජනහමු පවත්වමින් පම්පෝරි ගසා පලක් නොමැති බවත් 1970 අගෝස්තු 10 වෙනිදා සිට රෝහණ විජේවීර පවා මේ ආකාරයට පාක්ෂිකයන් කැඳවා අත්පුඩි ගස්වා ගත් ආකාරය තමන් දන්නා බවත් ඔහු සඳහන් කරයි.

2019 ජනාධිපතිවරණයේදී අනුර දිසානායකට ඡන්ද 3%ක් ලැබුණු අවස්ථාවේ පවා ජවිපෙ ගාලු මුවදොර පිටියට 60 000ක් ගෙනැවිත් පුරවා මැතිවරණ ව්‍යාපාරය ආරම්භ කළ බවත් පාඨලී චම්පික රණවක මහතා ප්‍රකාශ කරයි.

Ranawaka Calls for Provincial Council Elections to Uphold Electoral Promises

Former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka emphasized the importance of conducting provincial council elections as a means to restore public faith in President Anura Dissanayake following the recent presidential election. He believes that honoring commitments made during the election campaign is essential for maintaining credibility.

Ranawaka criticized the current approach, pointing out that hosting gatherings without effectively organizing them would not yield positive results. He referenced the historical context of the August 10, 1970 elections, recalling how politicians effectively mobilized supporters and communicated their messages during that time.

He also noted that despite Anura Dissanayake receiving only 3% of the votes in the 2019 presidential election, the JVP (Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna) was able to rally a staggering 60,000 supporters at the Galle Face Green, demonstrating their capacity to energize their base for electoral initiatives.

Ranawaka made these remarks while participating in the Derana 360 program.
