 තමන් යුද අපරාධකරුවෙකු නොවන බවත්, මව්බිම වෙනුවෙන් සටන් වැදුණු නිලධාරියෙකු ලෙස තමන්ට පනවා ඇති ජාත්‍යන්තර සම්බාධකවලට එරෙහිව කරුණු විමසීමට සූදානම් බවත් හිටපු යුද හමුදාපති සහ ආරක්ෂක මාණ්ඩලික ප්‍රධානී ජෙනරාල් ශවේන්ද්‍ර සිල්වා මහතා ප්‍රකාශ කර ඇත.

ඉන්දියාව පදනම් කරගත් ‘ඉම්පැක්ට් ස්ටෝරීස්’ යූ ටියුබ් නාලිකාව සමග සම්මුඛ සාකච්ඡාවකට එක්වෙමින් හිටපු හමුදාපතිවරයා මේ බව සඳහන් කර තිබේ.

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පැවැති මානුෂීය මෙහෙයුමේ අවසන් අදියරේදී යුද අපරාධ සිදු කළ බවට එල්ල වන චෝදනා තරයේ ප්‍රතික්ෂේප කරන ඒ මහතා, තමන්ට එරෙහිව නගා ඇති චෝදනාවලට පිළිතුරු ලබා දීමට ඕනෑම අවස්ථාවක සූදානම් බව පවසා ඇත.

එක්සත් ජනපදය මෙන්ම මෑතකදී බ්‍රිතාන්‍යය ද තමන්ට එරෙහිව සම්බාධක පනවා ඇති බව සිහිපත් කළ ජෙනරාල් ශවේන්ද්‍ර සිල්වා මහතා, තමන් කළ වරද කුමක්දැයි පැහැදිලි කරන ලෙස ප්‍රශ්න කර සිටියි.

හමුදා නීතියට පටහැනිව කිසියම් හෝ වරදක් සිදු කර ඇත්නම් ඊට දඬුවම් ලැබිය යුතු බවත්, තමන් සිදු කළේ රට වෙනුවෙන් පැවරුණු රාජකාරිය නිසි ලෙස ඉටු කිරීම පමණක් බවත් හෙතෙම අවධාරණය කරයි.

යුද සමයේදී සාමාන්‍ය වැසියන් කෙරෙහි දැඩි සැලකිල්ලක් දැක්වූ බවත්, ආයුධ බිම තබා භාර වූ 12,000කට අධික කොටි සාමාජිකයන් කිසිදු ගැටලුවකින් තොරව බාරගෙන පුනරුත්ථාපනය කිරීමට කටයුතු කළ බවත් ඔහු එහිදී පෙන්වා දී තිබේ.

කටුනායක ජාත්‍යන්තර ගුවන් තොටුපළ පුපුරුවා හරිමින් සහ උතුම් ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාවට පවා ප්‍රහාර එල්ල කළ ත්‍රස්තවාදීන්ට සමාව හිමිව තිබියදී, නීත්‍යනුකූලව සටන් මෙහෙයවූ වෘත්තීය හමුදාවකට එරෙහිව ලොව පුරා මෙලෙස සම්බාධක පැනවීම කනගාටුදායක තත්ත්වයක් බව ද හිටපු හමුදාපතිවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කර ඇත.

General Shavendra Silva Confirms Readiness to Address Allegations on War Crimes

General Shavendra Silva, the former Commander of the Sri Lankan Army, has stated that he is prepared to confront international challenges that brand him as a war criminal, insisting that he served as an officer who fought for his homeland.

Speaking during a discussion with the 'Impact Stories' YouTube channel, Silva emphasized his readiness to respond to any allegations he faces, particularly those related to war crimes committed during the final stages of human operations in Sri Lanka.

He pointed out that both the United States and, more recently, the United Kingdom have imposed sanctions against him. Silva has called for clarity regarding any wrongdoing on his part.

Highlighting the importance of accountability, he acknowledged that if he had committed any violations of military law, he would accept the consequences. Nevertheless, he reaffirmed that his actions were solely in line with his duty to serve the country effectively.

Silva noted that during the war, he maintained a high level of consideration for civilians. He cited the successful rehabilitation of over 12,000 former Tiger fighters, ensuring their return to society without issues.

He expressed dismay at the global imposition of sanctions against a professional army that operated within a legal framework, especially while groups responsible for bombings at the Katunayake International Airport and attacks on the Sacred Temple of the Tooth received amnesty.
