ඉන්දියාවේ උතුරු ආන්ද්‍රා ප්‍රදේශය හරහා හමායන ගැඹුරු පීඩන අවපාතය හේතුවෙන් බෙංගාල බොක්ක ගැඹුරු මුහුදු ප්‍රදේශය ඉතා රළු විය හැකි බැවින්, එම මුහුදු කලාපයේ යාත්‍රා කරන බහුදින ධීවර සහ නාවුක ප්‍රජාව වෙත කාලගුණ විද්‍යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් ‘රතු’ පැහැති අනතුරු ඇඟවීමේ නිවේදනයක් නිකුත් කර තිබේ.

මීට අමතරව, දිවයිනේ ගොඩබිම් ප්‍රදේශ කිහිපයකට මිලිමීටර් 100 ඉක්මවූ තද වැසි ඇතිවිය හැකි බවට නිකුත් කෙරුණු ‘ඇම්බර්’ පැහැති අනතුරු ඇඟවීම ද තවදුරටත් ක්‍රියාත්මක වේ.

කාලගුණ විද්‍යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ ස්වභාවික විපත් පිළිබඳ පූර්ව අනතුරු ඇඟවීමේ මධ්‍යස්ථානය සඳහන් කරන්නේ, උතුරු ආන්ද්‍රා ප්‍රදේශ වෙරළට ඔබ්බෙන් පැවති ගැඹුරු පීඩන අවපාතය මේ වන විට කන්කසන්තුරේ සිට කිලෝමීටර් 1100ක් පමණ ඊසාන දෙසින්, කේන්ද්‍රගතව පවතින බවයි.

මේ හේතුවෙන් උතුරු අක්ෂාංශ 10° ත් 22° ත් සහ නැගෙනහිර දේශාංශ 82° ත් 90° ත් අතර මුහුදු ප්‍රදේශවල සුළඟේ වේගය විටින් විට පැයට කිලෝමීටර් 70 දක්වා ඉහළ යා හැකි අතර, ගිගුරුම් සහිත තද වැසි සමග එම මුහුදු කලාප ඉතා රළු විය හැකිය.

ඒ අනුව, නැවත දැනුම් දෙන තුරු ඉහත මුහුදු ප්‍රදේශවල ධීවර හා නාවුක කටයුතුවලින් වැළකී සිටින ලෙසත්, දැනටමත් එම මුහුදු ප්‍රදේශවල රැඳී සිටින බහුදින යාත්‍රා වහාම ඉන් ඉවත් වන ලෙසත් බලධාරීහු තරයේ අවධාරණය කරති.

මේ අතර, දිවයිනේ පවතින වැසි සහිත කාලගුණ තත්ත්වය මත බස්නාහිර, සබරගමුව, මධ්‍යම, වයඹ සහ දකුණු පළාත්වල ඇතැම් ස්ථානවලට මිලිමීටර් 100ට වැඩි තද වැසි අපේක්ෂා කළ හැකි බවට කාලගුණ විද්‍යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව අනතුරු අඟවයි.

අකුණු සහ තද සුළං මඟින් සිදුවිය හැකි අනතුරු අවම කර ගැනීමට පියවර ගන්නා ලෙසත්, දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව මඟින් ඉදිරියේදී නිකුත් කරනු ලබන කාලගුණ අනාවැකි පිළිබඳව නිරන්තර අවධානයෙන් පසුවන ලෙසත් මහජනතාවගෙන් සහ ධීවර ප්‍රජාවගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටී.

Severe Weather Warning Issued for Fishing Communities in Northern Andhra Pradesh

The Department of Meteorology has issued a 'red' alert warning for fishing and maritime communities navigating the Bay of Bengal, due to the development of a deep depression over Northern Andhra Pradesh. The conditions at sea are expected to become extremely rough as a result.

Additionally, an 'amber' alert remains in effect, indicating the potential for heavy rainfall exceeding 100 millimeters in several areas across the country.

According to the Meteorology Department's Natural Disaster Early Warning Centre, the deep depression is currently located approximately 1,100 kilometers east of Kankesanturai, with implications for the region's weather patterns.

Wind speeds in coastal areas between latitudes 10° and 22° and longitudes 82° and 90° could reach up to 70 kilometers per hour at times, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms and torrential rain, leading to extremely rough seas.

Authorities have strongly urged fishermen and sailors to avoid venturing into the affected maritime areas until further notice. Those currently operating in the vicinity are advised to leave immediately.

Meanwhile, the Department of Meteorology forecasts that heavy rainfall exceeding 100 millimeters is likely in certain locations across the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North Western, and Southern provinces, amid the prevailing rainy weather conditions on the island.

The department is calling on the public and fishing communities to take precautions against potential dangers from lightning and strong winds, and to stay vigilant regarding forthcoming weather forecasts.
