A Saudi Arabian F-15 fighter jet, manufactured in the United States, has reportedly been shot down in Yemen, as stated by Houthi combatants, according to The Wall Street Journal. This incident highlights the escalating hostilities in the Arabian Peninsula, which have raised concerns over global energy supply disruptions amidst ongoing conflicts in the region.

Footage of the downed aircraft, which appeared to be engulfed in flames, has also been circulated by the Houthis. While the Saudi Ministry of Media has yet to issue an official statement on the matter, two intelligence sources confirm that a Saudi aerial strike jet was indeed brought down.

For over a decade, Saudi Arabia has demonstrated the capability to conduct precise aerial strikes on targets within Yemen. However, the downing of a state-of-the-art F-15 jet by Houthi forces, if verified, would signify a significant advancement in their defensive systems, according to military analysts.

The Houthi media has indicated that the attack was launched using domestically produced missiles in the Marib region, rich in oil and natural gas resources. Videos released by the Houthis depict aircraft debris scattered across a desert landscape, including wings and engine parts, with the Saudi national flag visible on the wreckage.
