හිටපු ජනාධිපති ආර්යා ශිරන්ති රාජපක්ෂ මහත්මිය ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොදුජන පෙරමුණේ සෘජු සාමාජිකාවක නොවුණ ද, ඇය පක්ෂ නායක මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතාගේ බිරිඳ වන බැවින් ඇය වෙනුවෙන් පක්ෂයක් ලෙස පෙනී සිටින බව ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොදුජන පෙරමුණේ මහ ලේකම් නීතිඥ සාගර කාරියවසම් මහතා පවසයි.
පක්ෂ මූලස්ථානයේ පැවති මාධ්‍ය හමුවකදී මාධ්‍යවේදියෙකු නැඟූ ප්‍රශ්නයකට පිළිතුරු දෙමින් ඒ මහතා සඳහන් කළේ, පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා පක්ෂයේ ජාතික සංවිධායකවරයා බැවින් ඔහු පක්ෂයේ සාමාජිකයකු නොවේ යැයි ප්‍රකාශ කිරීමට කිසිදු හැකියාවක් නොමැති බවයි.
එසේම ශිරන්ති රාජපක්ෂ මහත්මිය ජනාධිපති ආර්යාව ලෙස සිදුකළ කාර්යභාරයන්ගෙන් පක්ෂයක් හැටියට බැහැර වීමට තමන් සූදානම් නැති බවත්, වගකීම්වලින් පළායමින් බොරු ප්‍රකාශ නිකුත් කරන දේශපාලන පක්ෂයක් නොවන බවත් හෙතෙම ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.
තමන් අතින් යම් වරදක් සිදුව ඇත්නම් එය ජනතාව ඉදිරියේ පිළිගැනීමට පක්ෂය සූදානම් බව පැවසූ මහ ලේකම්වරයා, එහෙත් අසත්‍ය චෝදනා නඟන්නේ නම් ඊට එරෙහිව නැගී සිටිමින් කරුණු පැහැදිලි කිරීමට පසුබට නොවන බව ද අවධාරණය කළේය.
සාධාරණ හා නිදහස් නඩු විභාගයකට මුහුණදීමට තම පක්ෂයේ කිසිදු සාමාජිකයෙකු බියක් හෝ පැකිළීමක් නොදක්වන බව පෙන්වා දුන් සාගර කාරියවසම් මහතා, ශිරන්ති රාජපක්ෂ මහත්මිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් විරෝධය පළ කරන්නේ නඩු විභාගයකින් අනතුරුව සිරගත කිරීම ගැන නොව, නඩු විභාගයකටත් පෙර හුදෙක් විමර්ශන නිලධාරීන්ගේ තොරතුරු මත පමණක් පදනම්ව ඇයව මෙලෙස සිරගත කර තැබීමට එරෙහිව බව වැඩිදුරටත් කියා සිටියේය.
SLPP Secretary Defends Shiranthi Rajapaksa Amid Ongoing Controversies
Shiranthi Rajapaksa, former president Mahinda Rajapaksa's wife, remains a significant figure within the Sri Lanka People's Front (SLPP), despite not being an official member of the party. SLPP Secretary Attorney-at-Law Sagara Kariyawasam emphasized her role as a symbolic representative of the party during a recent press briefing at the party headquarters.
Responding to a journalist's inquiry, Kariyawasam dismissed suggestions that Namal Rajapaksa, a member of Parliament and the party's national organizer, was not aligned with the organization. He stated that the framework of the party inherently supports their collective leadership.
Kariyawasam reiterated that Shiranthi Rajapaksa is committed to her responsibilities previously held as the first lady and is not prepared to distance herself from the group. He underlined that SLPP aims to rise above political rhetoric and false claims, asserting their integrity as a political party.
If any mistakes have been made by the SLPP, the party is willing to acknowledge them publicly. He assured that they would confront false allegations head-on while clarifying facts, emphasizing their readiness to face scrutiny.
Highlighting the party's transparency, Kariyawasam declared that no member fears or hesitates to confront fair and impartial legal proceedings. He clarified that any dissent regarding Shiranthi Rajapaksa is not about imprisoning her after a trial, but rather opposes her unjust detention based solely on preliminary investigations conducted by authorities.
