නෝර්වුඩ් ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ අංශ කිහිපයක සේවය කරන සේවක සේවිකාවන් ඔවුන්ගේ නමට සහ ඔවුන්ගේ ඥාතීන්ගේ නම්වලට අස්වැසුම ප්‍රතිලාභ ලබා ගෙන ඇති බව නෝර්වුඩ් ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ සිදු කල අස්වැසුම වංචාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් විමර්ෂණය කරන විමර්ෂණ නිළධාරින් අනාවරණය කර ගෙන ඇත.

අදාළ සේවකයින් 2023 වසරේ සිට අස්වැසුම මුදල් අඛණ්ඩව ලබා ගෙන ඇති බවත්, ඒ පිලිබවද විමර්ෂණ නිළධාරින් විසින් නුවරඑළිය දිස්ත්‍රික් ලේකම්වරිය දැනුවත් කර ඇති බවයි නෝර්වුඩ් ප්‍රාදේශිය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ නිළධාරියෙකු කියා සිටියේ.

බගවන්තලාව සහ හැටන් වසම්වල පදිංචි නෝර්වුඩ් ප්‍රාදේශිය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ සේවය කරන එම සේවකයින් නෝර්වුඩ් ප්‍රාදේශිය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ අස්වැසුම අංශයේ නිළධාරින්ගේද සහයෝගය ඇතිව මෙම ප්‍රතිලාභ ලබා ගෙන ඇති බවට තහවුරු වී ඇත.

‍නෝර්වුඩ් ප්‍රාදේශිය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ අස්වැසුම මුදල් වංචාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් දැනට කරන ලද විගණන වාර්ථාව අනුව එය රු.කෝටි 6 දක්වා ඉහළ ගොස් ඇති බවත්, එම වංචාවට සම්බන්ධ නිළධාරින් දෙදෙනෙකු තවදුරටත් රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාර ගතව සිටින අතර, එම මුදල් වංචාවට සම්බන්ධ ගුරුවරුන් 6 දෙනෙකු මේ වන විට වැඩ තහනමකට ලක් වී ඇත.

අස්වැසුම මුදල් වංචාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් තවත් රජයේ සේවකයින් පිරිසක් සම්බන්ධ බවත්, ඒ පිලිබදව විමර්ෂණ කටයුතු සිදු කල හැටන් කොට්ඨාශ විමර්ෂණ ඒකකයේ පොලිස් නිළධාරින් වංචා කල මුදල කෝටි 6කට ආසන්න නිසා එහි ඉදිරි විමර්ෂණ කටයුතු අපරාධ විමර්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවට හැටන් මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය හරහා භාර දී ඇත.

විමර්ෂණ කටයුතු සිදු කල සියලුම ලිපිගොනු හැටන් කොට්ඨාශ විශේෂ විමර්ෂණ ඒකකය මගින් මේ වන විට අපරාධ විමර්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුයව වෙත යොමු කර ඇති බව හැටන් පොලිසියේ උසස් නිළධාරියෙකු පැවසීය.

Investigation Uncovers Subsidy Fraud at Norwood Divisional Secretariat

Several employees at the Norwood Divisional Secretariat have been implicated in a subsidy fraud scheme, having received benefits fraudulently under the names of both themselves and their relatives, according to investigations conducted by the relevant authorities.

It has been revealed that these individuals have been continuously receiving subsidy payments since 2023, prompting an alert to the Nuwara Eliya District Secretary regarding the matter, as disclosed by an official from the Norwood Divisional Secretariat.

Those involved, residing in the Bogawanthalawa and Hethan areas, reportedly obtained these benefits with the assistance of officials from the subsidy division at the Secretariat, confirming the complicity in the fraudulent scheme.

Current reports indicate that the total amount involved in the subsidy fraud has escalated to approximately six million Sri Lankan Rupees. Two officials connected to the case remain in custody, while six teachers linked to the fraud have already been suspended from their positions.

Moreover, claims suggest that a number of other public servants may also be involved in this ongoing investigation. The police officers from the Hethan Division's investigative unit noted that the amount misappropriated is nearing six million Rupees, leading to the case being escalated to the Criminal Investigation Department through the Hethan Magistrate's Court.

All related documents and files concerning the investigation have now been submitted to the Criminal Investigation Department by the Hethan Division Special Investigation Unit, as confirmed by a senior officer in the Hethan police.
