National Organizer of SLPP Announces Upcoming Grassroots Campaigns
The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will kick off a series of grassroots meetings starting next week, as revealed by the party's National Organizer, Namal Rajapaksa.
Rajapaksa made this announcement during a discussion in Parliament today, alongside the National Coordinator, D.V. Chanaka, and MP Chanaka Madugoda.
He expressed concerns over the government's inability to address the rising dissent among the public, alleging that they are resorting to heavy-handed tactics to maintain control over the country. "There is a significant opposition against the government, and we need to educate the people about the failings of this administration," he emphasized.
Rajapaksa also noted that grassroots coordinators have been urging for immediate meetings in communities to rally support and spread awareness regarding the government's shortcomings.
He highlighted the alarming inflation rate, which has surged to eight percent, pointing out that the government has failed to implement any effective solutions to tackle this crisis.
Rajapaksa further urged citizens to be informed about issues related to coal container hacking, as well as the government's actions against Buddhist monks and the Maha Sangha, pushing for heightened community engagement to shed light on these pressing matters.
