මඩකලපුව, එරාවුර් වන්දාරුමුල්ල ප්‍රදේශයේ පිහිටි නැඟෙනහිර විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ නවකවදය මුල්කරගනිමින් සිසු දෙපිරිසක් අතර ඇති වූ ප්‍රචණ්ඩ ගැටුමකින් සිසුන් හයදෙනෙකු බරපතළ තුවාල ලබා රෝහල්ගත කර ඇත.

තුවාල ලබා රෝහල්ගත කර ඇති සිසුන් අතරින් පස්දෙනෙකුම නවකවද විරෝධී මතධාරී කණ්ඩායමට අයත් අය වන අතර, අනෙක් සිසුවා නවකවදයට පක්ෂපාතී බව කියන පාර්ශ්වය නියෝජනය කරන අයෙකු බව  විමර්ශනවලදී තහවුරු වී තිබේ.

වාර්තා වන අන්දමට, විශ්වවිද්‍යාල පරිශ්‍රයේ සංවිධානය කර තිබූ සංගීත ප්‍රසංගයක් අතරතුරදී නවකවද විරෝධී සිසුන් සහ නවකවදය වෙනුවෙන් පෙනී සිටින බව කියන කණ්ඩායම අතර මුලින්ම බහින්බස්වීමක් හටගෙන ඇත. 

එම අවස්ථාවේදී එහි පැමිණි තවත් සිසුන් පිරිසක් මැදිහත් වී දෙපාර්ශ්වය අතර ඇතිවූ ආරවුල සමථයකට පත්කිරීමට පියවර ගෙන තිබිණි.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, සංගීත ප්‍රසංගය අවසන් වීමෙන් අනතුරුව අලුයම් කාලයේදී නවකවද විරෝධී සිසුන් පිරිස සිය නේවාසිකාගාරය බලා ගමන් කරමින් සිටියදී, නවකවද හිතවාදී පිරිසක් ඔවුන් සමඟ යළිත් ගැටුමක් නිර්මාණය කරගෙන තිබේ. 

එහිදී දෙපිරිස අතර සිදුවූ දරුණු පහරදීම් හමුවේ මෙම සිසුන් හයදෙනා තුවාල ලබා රෝහල්ගත කර ඇති බව පොලිස් ආරංචි මාර්ග වැඩිදුරටත් අනාවරණය කරයි.

Violent Clash at Eastern University Leaves Six Students Hospitalized

In a shocking incident at Eastern University located in the Eravur Vandaramull area in Batticaloa, a fierce brawl erupted between two groups of students, resulting in six individuals sustaining serious injuries and requiring hospitalization.

Among the injured, five belong to a faction opposing the student authorities, while the sixth student is affiliated with the pro-authority group, as confirmed through ongoing investigations.

Reports indicate the conflict initiated during a musical event organized on the university campus, where tensions flared as the students opposing the authorities confronted a group representing the newcomers.

As the situation escalated, other attendees attempted to intervene and defuse the confrontation between the two factions.

However, after the music event concluded, another confrontation erupted at dawn as the opposing students were returning to their residence, leading to a brutal exchange of blows that resulted in the injuries.

The police have confirmed that six students were hospitalized due to the violence, and investigations are currently underway to understand the full scope of the incident.
