ලෝක පූජිත ශ්‍රී ලාංකික ක්‍රීඩකයෙකුගේ බිරිඳක විසින් ඓතිහාසික සීගිරිය ආසන්නයේ පිහිටි වටිනා රජයේ ඉඩමක් කූට ලේඛන සකස් කර වංචනික ලෙස අත්පත් කරගැනීමේ සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් වන පරීක්ෂණ වාර්තාව, වසර පහක කාලයක් ගතවී ඇතත් අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව මඟින් මෙතෙක් ලබා දී නොමැති බව දඹුල්ල ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලය අනාවරණය කරයි.

දඹුල්ල ප්‍රාදේශීය මාධ්‍යවේදී කාංචන කුමාර ආරියදාස මහතා විසින් තොරතුරු දැනගැනීමේ අයිතිවාසිකම් පිළිබඳ පනත යටතේ සිදුකරන ලද විමසීමකට ප්‍රතිචාර දක්වමින් ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලය මේ බව නිල වශයෙන් තහවුරු කර තිබේ.

සීගිරිය ආශ්‍රිත ප්‍රදේශයේ දිළිඳු සහ අඩු ආදායම්ලාභී පවුල් වෙත බෙදාදීමට වෙන් කර තිබූ රජයේ ඉඩමක්, තමන්ද අඩු ආදායම්ලාභියෙකු ලෙස ව්‍යාජව පෙන්වා දෙමින්, ව්‍යාජ ජාතික හැඳුනුම්පත් අංක සහ කූට පදිංචි සහතික ඉදිරිපත් කරමින් මෙම සුපිරි ක්‍රීඩකයාගේ බිරිඳ විසින් 2021 වසරේදී අත්පත් කරගෙන ඇති බවට මුලින්ම තොරතුරු හෙළිදරව් වූයේද තොරතුරු පනත ඔස්සේය.

මෙම අක්‍රමිකතාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් සිදුකළ ප්‍රාථමික විමර්ශනවලදී කූට ලේඛන සකස් කිරීමට හා වැරදි තොරතුරු සැපයීමට ආධාර අනුබල දුන් බවට තහවුරු වූ දඹුල්ල ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයට අනුයුක්ත ග්‍රාම නිලධාරීවරයෙකුගේ සේවයද ඒ දිනවලම තහනම් කිරීමට පියවර ගැනිණි.

අනතුරුව, රජයේ ඉඩම් වංචා කිරීමේ මෙම බරපතළ සිදුවීම පිළිබඳව තොරතුරු දැනගැනීමේ පනත යටතේ 2021 මාර්තු 22 වන දින කරන ලද විමසීමකට ලිඛිතව පිළිතුරු දෙමින් දඹුල්ල ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලය 2021 මාර්තු 29 වැනිදා දන්වා ඇත්තේ, අදාළ සියලු විමර්ශන ලිපිගොනු අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව වෙත භාරදුන් බවයි.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, එම සිදුවීමට වසර පහක් සපිරුණු පසුබිමක පසුගිය නොවැම්බර් 20 වැනිදා යළිත් තොරතුරු පනත යටතේ කළ විමසීමේදී දඹුල්ල ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ තොරතුරු නිලධාරී එච්.පී.ඩී.කේ. විජේසිංහ මහතාගේ අත්සනින් යුතුව 2026 ඔක්තෝබර් 07 වැනි දින නිල ලිපියක් නිකුත් කර ඇත. 

එම ලිපිය මඟින් දන්වා ඇත්තේ, ඉඩම් පැවරීමට අදාළ දීමනා පත්‍ර තුනෙහි මුල් පිටපත් 2025 නොවැම්බර් 13 වැනිදා අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ විමර්ශන ඒකකයේ ස්ථානාධිපතිවරයා වෙත භාරදුන් නමුත්, එම පරීක්ෂණවල අවසන් වාර්තාව මෙතෙක් ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලය වෙත ලැබී නොමැති බවයි. එමෙන්ම අවස්ථා ගණනාවකදී වාචිකව කළ විමසීම්වලදීද කිසිදු තොරතුරක් අනාවරණය වී නොමැති බව එහි සඳහන් වේ.

Investigation into Land Fraud Involving Well-Known Sri Lankan Athlete's Wife Remains Unresolved After Five Years

In a troubling case that has unfolded over the past five years, the Divisional Secretary's office in Dambulla has disclosed that a vital report on an investigation into fraudulent land transactions near the historic Sigiriya site has yet to be released by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

This revelation came in response to a request made under the Right to Information Act by local journalist Kanchana Kumara Ariyadasa, highlighting the lack of progress in addressing the serious allegations surrounding the incident.

Reports indicate that a valuable government land parcel, originally designated for distribution to impoverished and low-income families in the Sigiriya vicinity, was fraudulently acquired by the wife of a prominent athlete in 2021. She allegedly presented false national identity numbers and fake residency certificates, falsely representing herself as a low-income beneficiary.

Initial inquiries into the matter found that an assistant government agent affiliated with the Dambulla Divisional Secretary's office facilitated the creation of the fraudulent documentation and provision of incorrect information, leading to immediate suspensions of their services.

Furthermore, in response to a query filed under the Right to Information Act on March 22, 2021, the Dambulla Divisional Secretary's office documented that all investigation files had been handed over to the CID as of March 29, 2021.

However, as of November 20, following a follow-up inquiry under the same law, H.P.D.K. Wijesinghe, the information officer at the Dambulla Divisional Secretary's office, issued an official letter dated October 7, 2026. The correspondence stated that while the original copies of three allotment documents pertaining to the land had been submitted to the CID's investigation unit on November 13, 2025, the final report of these investigations had not yet been received by the Divisional Secretary's office. It also noted that multiple verbal inquiries yielded no relevant information.
