පොලිස්පති ප්‍රියන්ත වීරසූරිය මහතාට එරෙහිව අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ චෝදනා විමර්ශන කොමිෂන් සභාව වෙත මෙතෙක් ලැබී ඇති පැමිණිලි විභාග නොවීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් එම කොමිසම වෙත විශේෂ පැමිණිල්ලක් ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇත.
පුරවැසි සංවිධානයේ කැඳවුම්කරු ශ්‍රී රවීන්ද්‍ර නිශ්ශංක මහතා විසින් කොළඹ පිහිටි අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ චෝදනා විමර්ශන කොමිෂන් සභා මූලස්ථානය වෙත ගොස් මෙම පැමිණිල්ල භාරදී තිබේ.
මෙම අවස්ථාවේදී මාධ්‍ය වෙත අදහස් දැක්වූ ශ්‍රී රවීන්ද්‍ර නිශ්ශංක මහතා සඳහන් කළේ, වත්මන් පොලිස්පතිවරයාට එරෙහිව මේ වන විටත් අල්ලස් කොමිසම වෙත පැමිණිලි 10කට අධික සංඛ්‍යාවක් ලැබී ඇති බවයි.
එහෙත් එම කිසිදු පැමිණිල්ලක් සම්බන්ධයෙන් මෙතෙක් විමර්ශනයක් ආරම්භ කර නොමැති බව පෙනී යන බවත්, අදාළ සියලු පැමිණිලි කඩිනමින් විභාග කරන ලෙස ඉල්ලා මෙම නව පැමිණිල්ල ගොනු කළ බවත් හෙතෙම ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.
"මේ පොලිස්පතිතුමාට විරුද්ධව පැමිණිලි දහයකට වැඩිය ලැබිලා තියෙනවා. නමුත් කිසිම පැමිණිල්ලකට පොලිස්පතිතුමා සම්බන්ධයෙන් විමර්ශනයක් සිදු කරලා නෑ. අපි මෙලෙස පැමිණිලි දහයක් ඉදිරිපත් කර තිබියදීත් එකම පැමිණිල්ලකට හෝ විමර්ශන සිදු නොකිරීම ගැටලු සහගතයි," යනුවෙන් ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් කියා සිටියේය.
Calls for Investigation into Allegations Against Police Chief Priyantha Weerasuriya
A significant complaint has been lodged with the Commission for the Investigation of Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, urging an investigation into the failure to address numerous allegations against Police Chief Priyantha Weerasuriya.
The complaint was submitted at the Commission's headquarters in Colombo by Sri Raveendra Nishshanka, a coordinator from a citizens’ organization.
In remarks made to the media during the submission, Nishshanka emphasized that there have been over ten complaints filed against the current Police Chief concerning bribery. Despite the quantity of allegations, he noted that it appears no investigations have been initiated to date.
Nishshanka expressed concern over this lack of action, stating that the new complaint was filed to urge the Commission to swiftly examine all pending allegations. "While we have submitted over ten complaints against the Police Chief, not a single one has been investigated, which raises significant concerns," he stated further.
