 විල්ගමුව, පේරකනත්ත යාය දහය ප්‍රදේශයේ පිහිටි සිය නිවසට වංචනික ආකාරයෙන් විදුලිය ලබාගත්තේ යැයි කියන විල්ගමුව ප්‍රාදේශීය සභාවේ මන්ත්‍රීවරියක රුපියල් ලක්ෂයක ශරීර ඇපයක් මත මුදාහැරීමට ලග්ගල මහේස්ත්‍රාත් එන්. එස්. ජයසූරිය මහතා නියෝග කළේය.

මෙසේ ඇප මත මුදාහැරුණේ විල්ගමුව ප්‍රාදේශීය සභාවේ මන්ත්‍රීවරියක වන පී. රසිකා රත්නායක නමැත්තියකි.

ලංකා විදුලිබල මණ්ඩලයට ලද තොරතුරකට අනුව විල්ගමුව පොලිසියේ සහාය ඇතිව සිදුකළ වැටලීමකදී අනාවරණය වී ඇත්තේ, අදාළ සැකකාරියගේ නිවසේ විදුලි මීටරය විකෘති වන සේ කාන්දම් කැබලි උපයෝගී කරගනිමින් කාලයක සිට සූක්ෂ්ම ලෙස විදුලිබලය ලබාගෙන ඇති බවයි.

මෙම වංචාව හේතුවෙන් විදුලිබල මණ්ඩලයට සිදු වූ සමස්ත මූල්‍ය පාඩුව ගණනය කර අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලෙස ලංකා විදුලිබල මණ්ඩලයේ නියෝජිතයන්ට නියෝග කළ මහේස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා, එළඹෙන දෙසැම්බර් මස 18 වැනි දින යළි අධිකරණය හමුවේ පෙනී සිටින ලෙස සැකකාර මන්ත්‍රීවරියට නියෝග කළේය.

Electoral Representative Released on Bail for Electricity Theft

A local council member from Wilgamuwa, suspected of illegally obtaining electricity, has been granted bail set at one million rupees by N. S. Jayasuriya, the Acting Magistrate of Laggal. The accused, P. Rasika Rathnayake, is a representative of the Wilgamuwa Pradeshiya Sabha.

According to information received by the Lanka Electricity Board, a police raid, supported by the Wilgamuwa Police, uncovered that the suspect had illicitly connected to the electricity supply for an extended period by tampering with her meter using pieces of wood to evade detection.

The magistrate instructed representatives from the Lanka Electricity Board to compile the total financial loss incurred due to this fraudulent activity and present it to the court. Rathnayake has been ordered to appear in court again on December 18 for further proceedings.
