The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced the execution of a swift operation targeting four vessels in the Gulf, as reported by Reuters. This significant strike occurred just hours after a series of rapid assaults were confirmed to have taken place on Wednesday.
Additionally, IRGC officials disclosed that three other vessels, strategically significant in the context of the Gulf, have also fallen victim to shipping accidents involving maritime bombs, further heightening tensions in the waterway.
In light of the region's escalating atmosphere, Iranian military officials have issued a grave warning to U.S. forces. They cautioned that if the United States continues its aggressive actions within the naval domain, Iran stands ready to unleash a substantial retaliatory assault targeting American military bases scattered throughout the Middle East.
Notably, the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz account for approximately 20% of global crude oil transport, underscoring the strategic importance of these waterways.
The U.S. Fifth Fleet, based in Bahrain, conducts extensive naval patrols in the region. Simultaneously, the Iranian Navy is engaged in continuous operations aimed at preventing illegal oil smuggling while safeguarding its maritime interests.
