2026දී ශ‍්‍රී ලංකාවේ ආර්ථික වර්ධනය මන්දගාමී වී උද්ධමනය ඉහළ යනවා...- ADB

 මැදපෙරදිග කලාපයේ පවතින භූ-දේශපාලනික නොසන්සුන්තාවය සහ ගෝලීය අස්ථාවරත්වය හමුවේ 2026 වසරේදී ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ආර්ථික වර්ධනය මන්දගාමී වනු ඇති බවත්, උද්ධමනය ඉහළ යනු ඇති බවත් ආසියානු සංවර්ධන බැංකුව (ADB) පුරෝකථනය කරයි.

ආසියානු සංවර්ධන බැංකුව විසින් නිකුත් කරන ලද නවතම ආර්ථික යාවත්කාලීන වාර්තාවට අනුව, මීට පෙර අප්‍රේල් මාසයේදී 4.2% ක් ලෙස පුරෝකථනය කර තිබූ 2026 වසරේ ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ආර්ථික වර්ධන වේගය 4.0% දක්වා පහත හෙළා ඇත. එමෙන්ම 2027 වසර සඳහා වන ආර්ථික වර්ධන පුරෝකථනය ද 4.0% ක් ලෙස සංශෝධනය වී තිබේ.

උද්ධමනය සම්බන්ධයෙන් ද එම බැංකුව නව සංශෝධනයන් ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇත. ඒ අනුව, 2026 වසර සඳහා මීට පෙර 5.2% ක් ලෙස පැවති උද්ධමන පුරෝකථනය 6.0% දක්වා ඉහළ නංවා ඇති අතර, 2027 වසර සඳහා 4.0% ක් ලෙස පැවති පුරෝකථනය 5.2% දක්වා ඉහළ දමා තිබේ.

ගෝලීය වෙළඳපොළේ ඉන්ධන මිල ඉහළ යාම සහ සැපයුම් ජාලයන්හි පවතින බාධා හේතුවෙන් සමස්ත දකුණු ආසියානු කලාපයේම ආර්ථික වර්ධන වේගය 6.3% සිට 6.0% දක්වා පහත වැටෙනු ඇතැයි එම වාර්තාවේ සඳහන් වේ.

විශේෂයෙන්ම ශ්‍රී ලංකාව ආනයනික ඉන්ධන මත දැඩි ලෙස යැපෙන බැවින්, ගෝලීය වෙළඳපොළේ සිදුවන මිල වෙනස්වීම් හමුවේ මෙරට ආර්ථිකය වැඩි වශයෙන් අවදානමට ලක්විය හැකි බව ආසියානු සංවර්ධන බැංකුව වැඩිදුරටත් පෙන්වා දෙයි.

ADB Predicts Slower Economic Growth and Rising Inflation for Sri Lanka by 2026

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) foresees a slowdown in Sri Lanka's economic growth and an increase in inflation by the year 2026, amid continuing geopolitical instability in South Asia and global uncertainties.

According to the latest economic update released by the ADB, the projected economic growth rate for Sri Lanka has been revised down from 4.2% to 4.0% for 2026. The growth forecast for 2027 has also been adjusted to 4.0% from previous estimates.

On the inflation front, the bank has made significant adjustments as well. The inflation forecast for 2026 has risen from 5.2% to 6.0%. For 2027, the prediction has been increased from 4.0% to 5.2%.

The report highlights that rising fuel prices in the global market, coupled with ongoing disruptions in supply chains, will contribute to a decline in the overall economic growth rate for the South Asian region, dropping from 6.3% to 6.0%.

Given Sri Lanka's heavy reliance on imported fuels, the ADB cautions that any fluctuations in global market prices could pose significant risks to the nation's economy.
