කුඩා තේ වතු ගම්මාන 500ක් ආරම්භ කිරිමට වතුමන් රජය සැළසුම් කර ඇති බව නුවරඑලිය දිස්ත්රික් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්රී (ජාතික ජන බලවේගයේ) මංජුල සුරවීරආරච්චි මහතා පැවසීය.
මංජුල සුරවීරආරච්චි මහතා ඒ බැව් කියා සිටියේ නුවරඑලිය දිස්ත්රික්කයෙ 2026 වසරට තොරාගෙන ඇති ගම්මාන වලින් හපුගස්තලාව කියන ප්රදේශයේ තියන හල්ගොල්ල කුඩා තේ වත්ත සමිතියට අයත් ප්රදේශයේ නිරික්ෂණ චාරිකාවකට එක් වෙමින් අනතුරුව මාධ්යට අදහස් දක්වමිනි.
මෙහිදි වැඩි දුරටත් අදහස් දැක්වූ මංජුල සුරවීරආරච්චි මහතා කියා සිටියේ,
“සිලෝන් ටී විලේජ් (CEYLON TEA VILLAGE) යන සංකල්පය යටතේ විශේෂයෙන්ම කුඩා තේ වතු ගම්මාන 500ක් ආරම්භ කිරිමට වත්මන් රජය සැළසුම් කරලා තියනවා. රටේ තේ අවශ්යතාවයෙන් 70%කට ආසන්න ප්රමාණයක් සපයන්නේ කුඩා තේවතු හිමියන්.
එතකොට මේ කුඩා තේවතු හිමියන් නගා සිටුවීම මේ වත්මන් රජයේ මූලික සංකල්පයක්, මූලික අදහසක්. මොකද විදේශ විනිමය ඉපයිමෙදි 70%ක් කුඩා තේ වතු හිමියන්ගේ නිෂ්පාදන තමයි ජාත්යන්තර වෙළදපොළට යන්නේ.
කුඩා වෙත් වතු හිමියන් නගා සිටුවමින්, ශක්තිමත් කරමින්, ඔවුන්ට අවශය ආර්ථික ශක්තිය වර්ධනය කිරිම අදාළ මූලික වැඩපිලිවෙළක් ක්රියාත්ම වෙලාවක නුවරඑළිය දිස්ත්රික්කයේ 2026 වසරට අදාළව ගම්මාන 12ක් තෝරාගෙන තියනවා සංවර්ධණය කිරිම සදහා කුඩා තේ වතු සංවර්ධන අධිකාරිය, අමාත්යාංශය මැදිහත් වෙලා.
ඉතින් ඒකෙදි නුවරඑළිය දිස්ත්රික්කය තියෙන අපි තෝරා ගත්තු කුඩා තේ වතු ගම්මාන 12 නිරික්ෂණයට යන ගමන් තමයි හපුගස්තලාව කියන ප්රදේශයේ තියන හල්ගොල්ල කුඩා තේ වත්ත සමිතියට අයත් ප්රදේශයේ තියන ගම්මානය නිරික්ෂණයට ආවේ.
ඉතින් 2026 අපි රටේම තියන ගම්මාන 500ක් තෝරගන්නවා වගේම 2027 වසරෙත් ගම්මාන 500ක් තෝරගන්න සැළසුම් කරලා තියනවා. යනුවෙන් පැවසීය.
මෙම නිරික්ෂණ චාරිකාවට නුවරඑලිය දිස්ත්රික් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්රීනි අනුෂ්කා තිලකරත්න මහත්මිය ඇතුලු කුඩා තේ වතු සංවර්ධණ අධිකාරියේ නිළධාරින් රැසක් එක් විය.

Government Plans to Establish 500 Small Tea Plantations in Nuwara Eliya District
The government is planning to establish 500 small tea plantations as part of its initiative for the tea-growing regions, according to Nuwara Eliya District Parliament Member Manjula Surawirachchi. He made this statement during a media briefing following an observation tour in the Halggolla region of Hapugasthalawa, which is part of the area belonging to a small tea plantation association.
During his comments, Manjula Surawirachchi emphasized that under the Ceylon Tea Village concept, the current government is particularly focusing on starting 500 small tea plantations. He mentioned that small tea producers supply approximately 70% of the national tea requirement.
Furthermore, he noted that the establishment of these small tea plantations is a fundamental concept of the current government, aiming to enhance the economic strength of small tea growers. This initiative is considered an essential element, as 70% of the foreign exchange generated by the tea industry comes from the products of small tea farmers that are sent to international markets.
By strengthening the small tea plantation sector, the government seeks to effectively enhance the economic stability of these growers. It is planned that 12 small tea plantations will be selected for development in the Nuwara Eliya District in the year 2026, with the small tea plantation development authority and the relevant ministry intervening to assist in this effort.
The selected 12 small tea-growing villages in the Nuwara Eliya District for observation included visits to the Halggolla tea plantation in the Hapugasthalawa area. The government plans to select a total of 500 such villages across the country by the year 2026, with similar plans for 2027 as well.
This observation tour included Nuwara Eliya District Parliament Member Anushka Thilakarathna and several officials from the Small Tea Plantation Development Authority.
