බස් ගාස්තු හෙට සිට ඉහලට.. පලමු වරට තනි බස් ගාස්තුවක් රුපියල් 5000 පන්නයි...

 ශ්‍රී ලංකා ප්‍රවාහන ඉතිහාසයේ ප්‍රථම වතාවට බස් ගාස්තුවක් රුපියල් 5000 සීමාව ඉක්මවා යමින්, ලංගම සහ පෞද්ගලික බස් ගාස්තු ජූලි 06 සිට ක්‍රියාත්මක වන පරිදි ඉහළ නංවා තිබේ.

ජාතික ප්‍රවාහන ප්‍රතිපත්තියට අනුව වාර්ෂිකව ජූලි මාසයේදී සිදු කළ යුතු බස් ගාස්තු සංශෝධනයට අනුව මෙම තීරණය ගෙන ඇති බව ජාතික ගමනාගමන කොමිෂන් සභාව පවසයි.

මෙම ගාස්තු සංශෝධනයේ කැපී පෙනෙනම සිදුවීම වන්නේ, මෙතෙක් රුපියල් 4405ක් ලෙස පැවති උපරිම දුර සේවා අධි සුඛෝපභෝගී බස් ගාස්තුව රුපියල් 5571ක් දක්වා ඉහළ යාමයි. මෙය මෙරට බස් ගාස්තුවක් රුපියල් පන්දහසේ සීමාව පසු කළ පළමු අවස්ථාව ලෙස වාර්තා වේ.

නව සංශෝධනයට අනුව අවම බස් ගාස්තුව රුපියල් 30 සිට රුපියල් 34 දක්වා රුපියල් 4කින් ඉහළ දමා ඇත. මීට අමතරව රුපියල් 39ක්ව පැවති දෙවන ගාස්තු පියවර රුපියල් 44ක් දක්වාත්, රුපියල් 50ක්ව පැවති තෙවන ගාස්තු පියවර රුපියල් 56ක් දක්වාත් ඉහළ නංවා තිබේ.

ගාස්තු වැඩි කිරීමේ කාණ්ඩ 4ක් යටතේ මෙම සංශෝධනය සිදු කර ඇත.

•       සාමාන්‍ය බස් සේවා (කි.මී. 100ට අඩු): ගාස්තුව 12%කින් ඉහළට
•       සාමාන්‍ය බස් සේවා (කි.මී. 100ට වැඩි): ගාස්තුව 20%කින් ඉහළට
•       සුඛෝපභෝගී සේවා (කි.මී. 100ට අඩු): පවතින ගාස්තුව 12%කින් ඉහළට
•       සුඛෝපභෝගී සේවා (කි.මී. 100ට වැඩි): පවතින ගාස්තුව 15%කින් ඉහළට

මෙම ගාස්තු වැඩි කිරීම ලංගම සහ පෞද්ගලික යන අංශ දෙකටම පොදුවේ අදාළ වන බව ජාතික ගමනාගමන කොමිෂන් සභාව වැඩිදුරටත් අවධාරණය කරයි.

Bus Fares in Sri Lanka Surpass 5,000 Rupees for the First Time

Starting July 6, 2023, bus fares in Sri Lanka have been raised, exceeding the 5,000 rupee mark for the first time in the country’s transportation history. The adjustment affects both public and private bus services.

The National Transport Commission stated that this decision aligns with the annual review of bus fares mandated by the national transportation policy, which is typically conducted in July.

One of the most noticeable changes is the increase in the maximum fare for long-distance luxury buses, which has risen from 4,405 rupees to 5,571 rupees. This marks a historic moment as it is the first instance that bus fares in Sri Lanka have surpassed the 5,000 rupee threshold.

Under the new fare structure, the minimum bus fare has gone up from 30 rupees to 34 rupees, reflecting a 4 rupee increase. Additionally, the second fare tier has been adjusted from 39 rupees to 44 rupees, while the third tier has risen from 50 rupees to 56 rupees.

This fare adjustment falls into four categories:

• Standard bus services (up to 100 km): fare increased by 12%
• Standard bus services (over 100 km): fare increased by 20%
• Luxury services (up to 100 km): fare increased by 12%
• Luxury services (over 100 km): fare increased by 15%

The National Transport Commission emphasized that these fare hikes apply broadly to both public and private transportation sectors.
