තම පියාට යකඩ බටයකින් පහර දි තුවාල සිදු කල සිය පුතා ලිදුල පොලිසිය මගින් (20) දින සැකපිට අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන නුවරඑලිය මහේස්ත්‍රාත් බුද්ධිකා හර්ෂනී ධර්මදාස මහත්මිය වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කිරිමෙන් අනතුරුව සැකකරු අගෝස්තු (09) දින දක්වා රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාර ගත කිරිම සදහා මහේස්ත්‍රාත්වරිය (21) දින නියෝග කලහ.

මෙසේ රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාර ගත කරනු ලැබූවේ ලිදුල පොලිස් මවුස්ඇල්ල වතුයායේ උඩ කොටසේ පදිංචි ජස්ටින් ප්‍රනාන්දු නැමති 32 හැවිරිදි දෙදරු පියෙකි.

සැකකරුගේ නිවසේ සුරතලයට ඇති කල කුකුලෙකු සැකකරුගේ 65 හැවිරිදි පියා (20) දින දහවල් මස් කර දිවා ආහාරයට ව්‍යාංජන ලෙස සකස් කිරිම හේතුවෙන් කෝපයට පත් පුතා විසින් නිවසේ තිබූ යකඩ පොල්ලකින් පියාගේ හිසට පහර දී තුවාල සිදු කිරිම නිසා තුවාලකරු ලිදුල ප්‍රාදේශීය රෝහල වෙත ඇතුලත් කිරිමෙන් පසු තුවාලකරුගේ තත්වය බරපතල නිසා තුවාලකරු වැඩිදුර ප්‍රතිකාර සදහා නුවරඑලිය දිස්ත්‍රික් මහ රෝහල වෙත මාරු කර යවා ඇත.

තුවාලකරුගේ තත්වය බරපතල බවයි සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් පරික්ෂණ පවත්වන ලිදුල පොලිසියේ නිළධාරියෙකු කියා සිටියේ.

Son Arrested for Assaulting Father with Iron Rod in Nuwara Eliya

A shocking incident unfolded in Nuwara Eliya, where a young man seriously injured his father using an iron rod. The 20-year-old suspect was promptly apprehended by law enforcement authorities after the attack.

The accused, identified as Justin Pranandu, aged 32, reportedly confronted his 65-year-old father over the preparation of a chicken dish, which had been prepared for lunch. In a fit of rage, he struck his father on the head with the iron rod found in their home, causing severe injuries.

Following the assault, the father was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. However, due to the severity of his condition, he was referred to the Nuwara Eliya District General Hospital for further medical care. Officials have reported that the father's health status remains critical.

The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident. Preliminary reports suggest that a domestic dispute over a meal led to this alarming act of violence.

The accused is currently being held in custody under a court order issued by Magistrate Buddika Harshani Dharmadasa, allowing for detention until August 9.
