විශ්වාස භංගය පරදී.. ‘මං අස්වෙන්නෑ ජනතාව අස්වෙන් කියන්නෑ..’ හර්ෂණ කියයි..

 අධිකරණ සහ ජාතික ඒකාබද්ධතා අමාත්‍ය නීතිඥ හර්ෂණ නානායක්කාර මහතාට එරෙහිව විපක්ෂය විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලද විශ්වාසභංග යෝජනාව වැඩි ඡන්ද 116කින් අද (24) පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේදී පරාජයට පත් විය.

අද දහවල් ආරම්භ වූ විවාදයෙන් අනතුරුව පැවැති ඡන්ද විමසීමේදී යෝජනාවට විරුද්ධව ඡන්ද 152ක් හිමි වූ අතර, එයට පක්ෂව හිමි වූයේ ඡන්ද 36ක් පමණි.

විපක්ෂ නායක සජිත් ප්‍රේමදාස මහතා ඇතුළු මන්ත්‍රීවරුන් 37 දෙනෙකුගේ අත්සනින් යුතුව මෙම යෝජනාව කතානායකවරයා වෙත භාර දී තිබුණේ මීගමුව බන්ධනාගාර ගැටුම සම්බන්ධයෙන් අමාත්‍යවරයා වගකීම් පැහැර හැර ඇති බවට චෝදනා කරමිනි.

විවාදයට පිළිතුරු දෙමින් අමාත්‍ය හර්ෂණ නානායක්කාර මහතා ප්‍රකාශ කළේ මීගමුව සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් තමන් දැඩි කම්පනයට පත්ව සිටින නමුත්, කිසිදු අවස්ථාවක සිය වගකීම් පැහැර හැර නොමැති බවයි.

"මීගමුවේ සිද්ධිය වෙද්දී මම බුදියගෙන හිටියේ නැහැ. අද මට ඉවත් වෙන්න කියන්නේ ඇප මත ඉන්න සහ හිරේ යන්න නියමිත අයයි. ජනතාව හෝ අපේ ඇමතිවරු මට ඉවත් වෙන්න කියන්නේ නැහැ. ඒ නිසා මම ඉල්ලා අස්වෙන්නේ නැහැ," යැයි අමාත්‍යවරයා දැඩිව කියා සිටියේය.

Parliament Rejects Opposition Motion Against Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara

The opposition's call for a vote of no confidence against Minister of Justice and National Unity, Harshana Nanayakkara, faced a significant setback in Parliament today, falling short by 116 votes.

Following a robust debate that commenced in the afternoon, the voting resulted in 152 members opposing the motion, while only 36 supported it.

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa spearheaded the initiative, accompanied by signatures from 37 fellow legislators, alleging that the Minister had evaded responsibility concerning a dispute at the Meegamuwa prison.

Responding to the controversy, Minister Nanayakkara expressed his profound concern regarding the Meegamuwa incident but firmly stated that he has never attempted to shirk his responsibilities.

"I was not absent during the events at Meegamuwa. Those calling for my resignation today are either on bail or scheduled to be imprisoned. The public and my fellow ministers cannot dictate my departure; therefore, I will not resign," he asserted emphatically.
