අල්ලස් ලබාගැනීමේ චෝදනාවකට වරදකරු වී අධිකරණය මඟින් සිරදඬුවම් නියම කිරීමෙන් පසු, සැඟව සිටි පාතහේවාහැට ප්රාදේශීය සභාවේ සභාපතිවරයා අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ විමර්ශන කොමිෂන් සභාව විසින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන තිබේ.
අදාළ අල්ලස් සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් පැවති නඩු විභාගයේදී වරදකරු කෙරුණු ඔහුට අධිකරණය විසින් මීට පෙර වසර තුනක සිරදඬුවමක් පනවා තිබුණි.
කෙසේ වෙතත්, දඬුවම නියම වීමෙන් අනතුරුව ඔහු සිය පදිංචි ස්ථානය වූ මහනුවර, මාරස්සන ප්රදේශයෙන් පලා ගොස් ප්රදේශ කිහිපයක සැඟව සිට ඇති බව අනාවරණය වේ.
සැකකාර සභාපතිවරයා පිළිබඳව අල්ලස් කොමිසමේ නිලධාරීන්ට ලැබුණු රහසිගත තොරතුරකට අනුව ක්රියාත්මක වූ විශේෂ වැටලීමකදී, ඊයේ (09) කිරිල්ලවල, ඉඹුල්ගොඩ ප්රදේශයේදී ඔහුව අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට හැකි වී තිබේ.
අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරු නියමිත සිරදඬුවම විඳීම සඳහා බන්ධනාගාරගත කිරීමට අවශ්ය ඉදිරි නීතිමය කටයුතු සිදු කිරීමට නියමිතය.
Local Council Chairman Arrested Following Bribery Conviction
The chairman of the Pathahawela Regional Council has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption after being convicted of bribery and sentenced to imprisonment by the court. He had previously received a three-year prison sentence pertaining to the bribery case.
Following the sentencing, it was revealed that the chairman had fled his residence in the Mahanuwara, Marassana area and had been hiding in various locations.
Authorities conducted a special operation based on confidential information received about the suspect. Yesterday, he was apprehended in the Kirillawela area, located in the Imbulgoda region.
The arrested individual is expected to undergo necessary legal proceedings to serve the prescribed prison term.
