කරන්නාගොඩ ඇප මත මුදාහරී...

 

හිටපු ජනාධිපති මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතාගේ පුත් යෝෂිත රාජපක්ෂ මහතා නාවික හමුදාවට බඳවා ගැනීමේදී සිදුවූ බව කියන දූෂණ අක්‍රමිකතා සම්බන්ධයෙන් අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් හිටපු නාවික හමුදාපති අද්මිරාල් ඔෆ් ද ෆ්ලීට් වසන්ත කරන්නාගොඩ මහතා ඇප මත මුදාහැරීමට කොළඹ ප්‍රධාන මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අසංග එස්. බෝදරගම මහතා අද (03) නියෝග කළේය.

සැකකරු රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 25 බැගින් වූ ශරීර ඇප දෙකක් මත මුදාහැරීමට නියම කළ මහේස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා, ඔහුගේ විදේශ ගමන් තහනම් කිරීමට ද පියවර ගත්තේය.

අද පෙරවරුවේ අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ විමර්ශන කොමිෂන් සභාව විසින් කරන්නාගොඩ මහතා අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව මෙම නියෝගය නිකුත් විය.

අල්ලස් කොමිසම අධිකරණයට කරුණු දක්වමින් කියා සිටියේ, 2006 වසරේදී නාවික හමුදාවේ විධායක අංශයට ශිෂ්‍ය භට නිලධාරීන් බඳවා ගැනීමේදී, නියමිත සුදුසුකම් සපුරා නොතිබූ යෝෂිත රාජපක්ෂ මහතාව එම තනතුරට බඳවා ගැනීමට කටයුතු කර ඇති බවයි.

එසේම, එවකට පැවති සම්මත ක්‍රමවේදයන් උල්ලංඝනය කරමින් රජයේ මුදල් වැය කර ඔහුට බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය රාජකීය නාවික විද්‍යාලයේ  පුහුණු පාඨමාලාවකට සහභාගී වීමට අවස්ථාව සලසා දීම හරහා දූෂණය නමැති වරද සිදුකර ඇති බවට විමර්ශන නිලධාරීහු චෝදනා කරති.

මෙම සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් වැඩිදුර විමර්ශන අඛණ්ඩව ක්‍රියාත්මක වේ.

Former Navy Chief Released on Bail Amidst Corruption Allegations

The Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama ordered the release on bail of former Navy Commander Admiral of the Fleet Wasantha Karannagoda today (3rd) in connection with alleged corruption related to the recruitment of Yoshitha Rajapaksa, the son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, into the Navy.

The magistrate set two bail conditions amounting to Rs. 2.5 million and also imposed a travel ban on the suspect.

This order was issued following the arrest of Karannagoda by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, and his subsequent presentation to the court earlier in the morning.

The commission informed the court that during the recruitment of probationary naval officers for the executive branch of the Navy in 2006, Yoshitha Rajapaksa had been recruited despite not meeting the required qualifications for the position.

Additionally, investigations allege that through violations of existing protocols, government funds were improperly utilized to provide Yoshitha with the opportunity to participate in a training course at the Royal Naval Academy in Britain, constituting the offense of corruption.

Further investigations into this matter are ongoing.
