හිටපු පොලිස්පති මරණය ගැන පොලිසියෙන් නිවේදනයක්.. සිය දිවි නසා ගැනීමක්ද, ඝාතනයක්ද නොකියයි...

 ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොලිසියේ 35 වන පොලිස්පතිවරයා ලෙස කටයුතු කළ සී.ඩී. වික්‍රමරත්න මහතා අද (17) උදෑසන සිදුවූ වෙඩි වැදීමකින් ජීවිතක්ෂයට පත්ව ඇති බව පොලිස් මාධ්‍ය කොට්ඨාසය නිවේදනය කරයි

මාලඹේ පොලිස් වසමේ පරාක්‍රම පාර, තලහේන ප්‍රදේශයේ පිහිටි ඒ මහතාගේ පෞද්ගලික නිවසේදී මෙම වෙඩි වැදීම සිදුව ඇති අතර වෙඩි වැදීමෙන් බරපතළ තුවාල ලැබූ වික්‍රමරත්න මහතා වහාම නැගෙනහිර කොළඹ ශික්ෂණ රෝහලට ඇතුළත් කර ඇති අතර, එහිදී ප්‍රතිකාර ලබමින් සිටියදී ඒ මහතා මියගොස් ඇති බව නිවේදනයේ දැක්වෙයි.

සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් මාලඹේ පොලිස් ස්ථානය සහ බස්නාහිර පළාත් දකුණු දිසාව අපරාධ කොට්ඨාසය මගින් පුළුල් විමර්ශන ආරම්භ කර ඇත.

මියගිය හිටපු පොලිස්පතිවරයාගේ දේහය පිළිබඳ පශ්චාත් මරණ පරීක්ෂණය නැගෙනහිර කොළඹ ශික්ෂණ රෝහලේදී පැවැත්වීමට නියමිතය.

මියයන විට 63 වන වියේ පසු වූ සී.ඩී. වික්‍රමරත්න මහතා 2020 නොවැම්බර් මස 27 වනදා සිට 2023 නොවැම්බර් මස 23 වනදා දක්වා මෙරට 35 වන පොලිස්පතිවරයා ලෙස රාජකාරි කළේය.

මෙය ඝාතනයක්ද සිය දිවි නසා ගැනීමක්ද යයි  මෙතෙක් නිල ප්‍රකාශයක් සිදු කර නොමැති අතර විමර්ශන කටයුතු තවදුරටත් ක්‍රියාත්මකය.

Former Sri Lankan Police Chief C.D. Wickramarathna Killed in Shooting Incident

C.D. Wickramarathna, who served as the 35th Inspector General of Police in Sri Lanka, was tragically killed in a shooting this morning, November 17, as confirmed by the Police Media Unit.

The incident occurred at Wickramarathna's private residence located on Parakram Road in the Thalahena area of Malabe. He sustained severe injuries from the gunfire and was rushed to the East Colombo Teaching Hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

In the wake of this incident, the Malabe police and the Western Province's South Criminal Investigation Division have launched extensive investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the event.

A post-mortem examination of the deceased former police chief is scheduled to be conducted at the East Colombo Teaching Hospital.

Wickramarathna, aged 63 at the time of his death, held the position of Inspector General of Police from November 27, 2020, until November 23, 2023.

As of now, there has been no official statement regarding whether this incident is considered a homicide or a suicide, and investigations are ongoing.
