මේ අතර, සිය ඥාතීන් පිළිබඳ තොරතුරු අපේක්ෂාවෙන් රැඳවියන්ගේ පවුල්වල සාමාජිකයන් සහ හිතවතුන් විශාල පිරිසක් රාත්‍රී කාලයේදීත් බන්ධනාගාර පරිශ්‍රය අසල රැඳී සිටින අයුරු දක්නට ලැබිණි.

මෙම දරුණු ගැටුම් හේතුවෙන් පුද්ගලයන් 26 දෙනෙකු ජීවිතක්ෂයට පත්ව ඇති බව තහවුරු වී ඇති අතර, තුවාල ලැබූ සංඛ්‍යාව 100 ඉක්මවා ඇත.

Security Heightened at Mahingama Prison Following Violent Clashes

In the wake of severe unrest that erupted over the past two days at Mahingama Prison, authorities have moved swiftly to bolster security measures throughout the facility. The aggressive incidents prompted an immediate response, leading to an increased presence of law enforcement and military personnel in the vicinity.

In addition to routine police security, specialized police units and Army teams have been deployed to ensure the safety of both the prison grounds and the surrounding areas. This step recognizes the ongoing volatile atmosphere that remains a concern for both inmates and the general public.

Evaluating the situation, arrangements are being made for the transfer of detainees to other prisons via transport buses, continuing even during nighttime hours to maintain operational security.

During the night, a significant number of family members and friends of inmates have been observed gathering near the prison, presumably awaiting information about their loved ones.
