 “ඇමැතිවරුන්ගේ ඩමි පුච්චන ගොවි මහතුන්ට පසුතැවෙන්න වෙයි” යැයි නිවාස ඉදිකිරීම් හා ජල සම්පාදන අමාත්‍ය වෛද්‍ය සුසිල් රණසිංහ පවසයි. ඔහු මේ බව ප්‍රකාශ කර සිටියේ, තලාව ප්‍රදේශයේ පිහිටි වී අලෙවි මණ්ඩලයට අයත් ගබඩා නිරීක්ෂණය කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව මාධ්‍ය වෙත අදහස් දක්වමිනි.

තඹුත්තේගම ගොවි උද්ඝෝෂණයක් තිබුණනේ. ඒ උද්ඝෝෂණ කරන උද්ඝෝෂණ ඉස්සරහම ඉන්න අයගෙන් අහන්න ඕනෙ. මේ තලාවේ මෙතන මේ වී අලෙවි මණ්ඩලයේ ගබඩා හතරක් තියෙනවා, මේකේ කෙළවරේ තියෙන ගබඩාවට මොකද වුණේ කියලා? ඒවාට උත්තර දෙන්න කියලා ඒ ප්‍රශ්න ඇහුවොත් තමයි ඒ කට්ටිය අමාරුවේ වැටෙන්නේ. මේ වී අලෙවි මණ්ඩලයේ ගබඩා හතරෙන් එකක්. පෞද්ගලික ආයතනයකට ඉඩමත් එක්ක විකුණලා තියෙන්නේ. ඒ විකුණපු මහත්වරු තමයි දැන් ඔය වී මිල සම්බන්ධයෙන් කෑ මොර දෙන්නේ ගොවියොත් යම් ප්‍රමාණයක් අරගෙන ඇවිල්ලා. අපි එනකොට වී අලෙවි මණ්ඩලය ණය කරලා, වට්ටලා, කඩා-බිඳ දමලා තමයි තිබුණේ. අපි ඇවිල්ලා වී අලෙවි මණ්ඩලය නැවත පණ ගැස්සුවා. පහුගිය කන්නවල වී සඳහා හොඳ මිලක් අපිට ගන්න පුළුවන් වුණා. වී අලෙවි මණ්ඩලය වී ගත්තා. හොඳ මිලක් අපි ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කරා, දැන් අපි වියළන යන්ත්‍ර සවි කළා. තව අපි සමුපකාර ජාලය, සතොස ජාලය මේකට එකතු කර ගන්න ඕන.

මේ දවස්වල වීවල ප්‍රශ්නයක් තියෙනවා යම්තාක් දුරකට. ඒක තාවකාලිකයි, අපි තව සති කිහිපයකින් වී මිලදී ගන්නවා. රුපියල් 120 ක ස්ථාවර මිලක් අපි දැනටමත් නාඩු සඳහා ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කරලා තියෙන්නෙ. තව අවුරුද්දක් විතර යනකොට මේවට වී වේළීමේ උපරකණ හයි කරලා, තව ගබඩා ප්‍රමාණය වැඩි කරලා, වී මිලදී ගැනීමේ ධාරිතාව වැඩි කරලා මේ ප්‍රශ්නෙට උත්තරයක් හොයන්න අපි විද්‍යානුකූලව මැදිහත් වෙමින් ඉන්නේ ඒ නිසා මට කියන්න තියෙන්නේ ගොවියෝ කලබල වෙන්න එපා, ඔය කරන උද්ඝෝෂණ පිටිපස්සේ අපි දන්නවා දේශපාලන හස්තයක් තියෙනවා. ඒ දේශපාලන හස්තය පිරිසුදු නෑ.

මෙම අවස්ථාවට තලාව ප්‍රාදේශීය සභාවේ සභාපති කරුණාදාස දිසානායක ඇතුළු එම සභාවේ මන්ත්‍රිවරුන් හා මන්ත්‍රිවරියන් ඇතුළු පිරිසක් ද සහභාගි වූහ.

Minister Warns Farmers of Potential Consequences Amidst Rice Pricing Issues

The Minister of Housing and Construction, Dr. Susil Premajayantha, expressed concern that farmers might face repercussions due to ongoing tensions caused by certain politicians. His remarks came after inspecting a warehouse operated by the Rice Marketing Board in the Talawa area.

During the inspection, he noted the ongoing protests at Tambuttegama and emphasized the need for inquiries directed at the demonstrators regarding the events surrounding one of the four warehouses managed by the Rice Marketing Board in Talawa. “If people ask them questions about what transpired at the end of that warehouse, they will indeed find themselves in a difficult position,” he cautioned.

Dr. Premajayantha highlighted that a portion of the rice marketing operations had been sold to a private entity, pointing fingers at those who previously sold the property as the ones allegedly misinforming farmers about rice pricing. “When we intervened, the Rice Marketing Board was in disarray, yet we managed to revitalize it. Recently, we secured a favorable price for rice, and we are now equipped with drying machines,” he elaborated.

He acknowledged that there are challenges in the rice market, but assured that they are temporary. “We will continue purchasing rice over the next few weeks. A fixed price of 120 rupees has already been announced for the farmers,” he stated, revealing plans to enhance storage capacity and improve purchasing capabilities scientifically in response to current challenges. “There is no need for farmers to panic; we understand the political motivations behind the demonstrations,” he added, indicating the presence of political interferences in the situation.

The event saw attendance from local council chairman Karunadasa Disanayake and other council members, all engaged in addressing the concerns that have emerged around rice pricing in the region.
