A violent clash at the Migamaha prison has been reported as a culmination of a long-standing power struggle between two inmate factions. Social media is buzzing with discussions around the incident, which highlights ongoing issues within the prison system.

It has emerged that the conflict may be linked to a group of inmates allegedly associated with a prominent former Sri Lankan cricketer's brother. This brother had previously served as the chief jailer at Migamaha prison, leading to suspicions about the group’s influence and activities.

During his tenure, he reportedly established a specialized team of informers composed of inmates to gather intelligence on drug trafficking and other criminal activities within the prison. However, as time passed, this group is believed to have consolidated significant power, effectively transforming the prison environment into a controlled domain, exerting control over other inmates, often with the complicity of prison officials.
