මාස්පතා සිදු කරනු ලබන ඉන්ධන මිල සංශෝධනය අද දිනයේ සිදු කිරීමට නියමිතව ඇති අතර, එහිදී ඉන්ධන මිලෙහි කැපී පෙනෙන අඩුවීමක් අපේක්ෂා කළ නොහැකි බව ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාව පවසයි.

මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදහස් දක්වමින් තෙල් සංස්ථාවේ කළමනාකාර අධ්‍යක්ෂ මයුර නෙත්තිකුමාර මහතා සඳහන් කළේ, ලෝක වෙළෙඳපොළේ පවතින තත්ත්වය හමුවේ මෙවර මිල සංශෝධනයේදී පාරිභෝගිකයන්ට විශාල සහනයක් බලාපොරොත්තු විය නොහැකි බවයි.

ජූලි මාසය පුරා ලෝක වෙළෙඳපොළේ ඉන්ධන මිල ගණන් විශාල වශයෙන් උච්චාවචනයන්ට ලක්වීම මෙම තත්ත්වයට ප්‍රධාන හේතුව වී තිබේ.

ලෝක වෙළෙඳපොළේ පවතින මිල උච්චාවචනයන් හේතුවෙන් දේශීය වෙළෙඳපොළේ මිල ගණන් විශාල ලෙස පහත දැමීමට ඇති ඉඩකඩ සීමිත බව කළමනාකාර අධ්‍යක්ෂවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

No Significant Drop in Fuel Prices Expected This Month, Says Lanka Mineral Oil Corporation

The anticipated fuel price revision set for today is unlikely to yield a significant reduction, as confirmed by the Lanka Mineral Oil Corporation (LMOC). Despite hopes for lower prices, the company's director, Mayura Neththikumara, emphasized that the current global market conditions do not favor considerable relief for consumers.

In his remarks, Neththikumara pointed out that the ongoing fluctuations in global fuel prices throughout July have primarily influenced the overall situation. The sharp increases in international fuel prices are largely attributed to unprecedented volatility in the global market, making it difficult for local prices to fall substantially.

Additionally, he elaborated that the constraints imposed by high prevailing prices in the international market severely limit the capacity for significant price reductions domestically. This situation leaves consumers with little expectation of substantial savings in the upcoming price adjustment.
