පෞද්ගලික බැංකුවකට ව්‍යාජ ලේඛන ඉදිරිපත් කර රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 250ක මුදලක් වංචා කිරීමේ සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී ජගත් මනුවර්ණ මහතා ඇතුළු සැකකරුවන් 28 දෙනෙකුට එරෙහිව පවරා ඇති නඩුව, ඉදිරි නීතිමය පියවර සඳහා නීතිපති උපදෙස් වෙත යොමු කර ඇති බව අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව (15) අධිකරණයට දැනුම් දුන්නේය.

කොටුව මහේස්ත්‍රාත් පසන් අමරසේන මහතා හමුවේ මෙම නඩුව කැඳවූ අවස්ථාවේදී, විමර්ශන නිලධාරීන් විසින් වැඩිදුර වාර්තාවක් ඉදිරිපත් කරමින් මේ බව සඳහන් කළේය.

අදාළ වංචාව සඳහා භාවිත කළ බැංකු ලේඛනවලට අත්සන් තැබූ පුද්ගලයන් හඳුනා ගැනීම සඳහා සිදුකළ අත් අකුරු පරීක්ෂාවන් මේ වන විට අවසන් කර ඇති බව ද අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව මෙහිදී අධිකරණයට දන්වා සිටියේය.

එම විමර්ශන වාර්තා ද ඇතුළුව සම්පූර්ණ ගොනුව නීතිපතිවරයා වෙත යොමු කර ඇති බව වාර්තා වේ.

නඩු විභාගය සඳහා සැකකරුවන් පිරිසක් අධිකරණයේ පෙනී සිටි අතර, පෙනී නොසිටි 13 වන සහ 17 වන සැකකරුවන්ට එරෙහිව වරෙන්තු නිකුත් කිරීමට මහේස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා නියෝග කළේය.

සිද්ධියට අදාළ නඩුව නැවත කැඳවීම ලබන දෙසැම්බර් මස 09 වනදාට නියම කෙරිණි.

Legal Proceedings Initiated Against 28 Individuals, Including MP Jagath Manuwarna, for Bank Fraud

In a significant development, the Department of Criminal Investigation has informed the court about a case involving 28 suspects, including Parliamentarian Jagath Manuwarna, related to the fraudulent submission of documents to a private bank, resulting in a financial loss amounting to 250 million rupees. The case has been referred to the Attorney General for further legal action.

This announcement was made during a court session held before Colombo Chief Magistrate Pasan Amarasinghe, where investigative officials presented additional reports regarding the case.

The Department revealed that they have completed handwriting analyses aimed at identifying individuals who signed the bank documents involved in the fraud.

The comprehensive case file, which includes these investigation reports, has been forwarded to the Attorney General for review.

Several suspects appeared in court for the hearing, while warrants were issued for the absent suspects numbered 13 and 17, as directed by the magistrate.

The case is set to be reconvened on December 9th for further proceedings.
