ස්ථාන දෙකකදී තරුණියන් දෙදෙනෙකු අනතුරට පත් කර, රථය නොනවත්වා පලාගිය ප්රධාන පොලිස් පරීක්ෂකවරයෙකු (26) මීගොඩ පොලිසිය විසින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගනු ලැබීය.
මෙසේ අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇත්තේ හොමාගම ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ පොලිස් අධිකාරී කොට්ඨාසයට අනුයුක්ත විශේෂ විමර්ශන ඒකකයේ ස්ථානාධිපතිවරයා (OIC) ලෙස කටයුතු කරන නිලධාරියෙකි.
පොලිසිය සඳහන් කරන පරිදි, සැකකාර නිලධාරියා පසුගිය සෙනසුරාදා (25) රාත්රී 11.30 ට සහ 11.57 ට පමණ මෙම අනතුරු දෙක සිදු කර තිබේ.
පළමු අනතුර වටරැක ප්රදේශයේදී සිදුව ඇති අතර, දෙවන අනතුර මීගොඩ ඉන්ධන පිරවුම්හල අසලදී සිදුව ඇත. එහිදී තරුණියන් දෙදෙනෙකු අනතුරට පත් කර ඔහු සිය මෝටර් රථයෙන් පලා ගොස් තිබිණි.
සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් සිදුකළ මූලික විමර්ශනවලදී අනාවරණය වී ඇත්තේ අනතුර සිදුවන අවස්ථාවේදී මෙම ප්රධාන පොලිස් පරීක්ෂකවරයා දැඩි ලෙස බීමත්ව සිට ඇති බවයි.

Police Inspector Arrested for Hit-and-Run Incident Involving Two Young Women
A 26-year-old police inspector, serving as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Special Investigations Unit attached to the Homagama Senior Superintendent's Division, was taken into custody by the Meeegoda Police following a hit-and-run accident that injured two young women.
The incidents, which occurred on Saturday night (October 25) around 11:30 PM and 11:57 PM, involved the inspector who is now facing serious charges. The first accident took place in the Wattarakkya area, while the second incident occurred near a fuel station in Meeegoda, where the victims were struck by his vehicle as he fled the scene.
Initial investigations revealed that the inspector was allegedly heavily intoxicated at the time of the accidents. The authorities have expressed grave concerns over the incident and are committed to conducting further inquiries.
The Meeegoda Police have stated they are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding these distressing events.
