22 සංශෝධනයට එරෙහිව නඩු දමයි.. තව නඩු පෝලිමක් එයි..

අධිකරණවල විනිසුරුවරුන්ගේ විශ්‍රාම වයස දීර්ඝ කිරීම සඳහා රජය විසින් ගෙන ඒමට යෝජිත නව ආණ්ඩුක්‍රම ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධනය අභියෝගයට ලක් කරමින් ඉදිරි සති දෙක ඇතුළත ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණය හමුවේ නඩු පැවරීමට ඒකාබද්ධ විපක්ෂය තීරණය කර තිබේ.

ඒකාබද්ධ විපක්ෂයේ කැඳවුම්කරු මහාචාර්ය ජී. එල්. පීරිස් මහතා පෙන්වා දෙන්නේ, මෙම ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධනය පිටුපස සැඟවුණු දේශපාලන අරමුණක් පවතින බවයි.

රජය පවසන පරිදි මෙහි මූලික අරමුණ විනිසුරුවරුන්ගේ විශ්‍රාම වයස දීර්ඝ කිරීම පමණක් නොව, ඒ හරහා ජනාධිපතිවරයාගේ ධුර කාලය ද දීර්ඝ කර ගැනීම බවට ඔහු චෝදනා කරයි.

මෙම යෝජිත පනත ආණ්ඩුක්‍රම ව්‍යවස්ථාවට සෘජුවම පටහැනි බව පෙන්වා දෙන මහාචාර්යවරයා, එය වළක්වා ගැනීම සඳහා අවශ්‍ය නීතිමය ක්‍රියාමාර්ග ගැනීමට මේ වන විටත් කටයුතු සූදානම් කරමින් පවතින බව වැඩිදුරටත් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

තවත් දේශපාලන පක්‍ෂ හා සංවිධාන රැසක්ද මෙම සංශෝධනයට එරෙහිව අධිකරණය හමුවට යාමට නියමිතය.

Opposition Alliance to Challenge Constitutional Amendment Extending Judges' Retirement Age

The proposed constitutional amendment aimed at extending the retirement age for judges is set to face a legal challenge in the Supreme Court within the next two weeks, as the united opposition coalition has decided to file a case against it.

Chairman of the opposition alliance, Professor G.L. Peiris, highlighted that there are underlying political motives concealed behind this amendment. He asserts that the government's purported principal objective of merely extending judges' retirement age is misleading.

Peiris accused the government of intending to prolong the presidential term as a secondary agenda tied to the amendment. He emphasized that the proposed legislation poses a direct threat to the Constitution and disclosed that efforts are already underway to implement necessary legal measures to prevent its passage.

In addition to the unified opposition, several other political parties and organizations are also preparing to petition the courts against this amendment.
