 මධ්‍යම කදුකරයේ බටහිර බෑවුම් ප්‍රදේශවලට (02) දින රාත්‍රියේ සිට ඇද හැලෙන අධික වර්ෂාව හේතුවෙන් ඩෙවෝන් දිය ඇල්ලට ජලය ගලා බසිනා ඩෙවෝන් ඇළ පිටාර ගැලීමෙන් කොටගල කොමර්ෂල් ප්‍රදේශයේ සහ ලොග්ගිල් වතුයායේ නිවාස 40ක් ජලයෙන් යට වී ඇත.

එම නිවාසවල පදිංචිකරුව්න තාවකාලිකව ආරක්ෂිත ස්ථාන කරා යොමු කර ඇති අතර, තව දුරටත් ඇද හැලෙන අධික වර්ෂාව හේතුවෙන් හැටන් නුවරඑළිය සහ හැටන් කොළඹ ප්‍රධාන මාර්ගවල රථවාහන ගමනා ගමනයට බාධා පැමිණ ඇත.

එම මාර්ගවල රථවාහන ධාවනය කිරිමේදි සැළකිලිමත් ලෙස සෙමින් රිය ධාවනය කරන ලෙස පොලිසිය රියදුරන්ගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටියි.

Severe Rainfall Displaces Residents in Central Highlands

Heavy rainfall since the night of the 2nd has resulted in severe flooding in the western valleys of the Central Highlands, particularly impacting housing in the commercial area of Kotagala and plantation houses in Loggill. Approximately 40 homes are reportedly submerged under water due to the overflowing of the Devons River.

As a precautionary measure, residents of these affected houses have been temporarily relocated to safer locations. The relentless downpour has additionally caused major disruptions to traffic along the Hatton-Nuwara Eliya and Hatton-Colombo main roads.

The police have urged drivers to proceed with caution and maintain low speeds while navigating these affected roadways, as the adverse weather conditions continue to pose risks to transportation.
