මෙරට ඉතිහාසයේ ප්‍රථම වතාවට වී මිලදී ගැනීම සඳහා රජය විසින් ලබා දෙන පොලී රහිත ණය පහසුකමේ ප්‍රතිලාභය සෘජුවම ගොවියා වෙත ලබා දීමට පියවර ගන්නා බව නිවාස, ඉදිකිරීම් සහ සංස්කෘතික කටයුතු නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය ටී.බී. සරත් මහතා ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

අමාත්‍යවරයා සඳහන් කළේ, කිලෝ 64ක වී මිටියක් රුපියල් 6,000ක මිලකට මිලදී ගැනීමට මහා පරිමාණ මෝල් හිමියන් මේ වන විට එකඟතාව පළ කර ඇති බවයි.

එමෙන්ම ඉදිරි සතිය ඇතුළත එම මිල රුපියල් 6,800 දක්වා ඉහළ නැංවීමට ද මෝල් හිමියන් කටයුතු කරනු ඇතැයි ඔහු විශ්වාසය පළ කළේය.

"රජය මේ මුදල් ලබා දෙන්නේ රටේ ජාතික නිෂ්පාදනය සුරක්ෂිත කිරීම වෙනුවෙන්. ගොවියාට සිය වී කිලෝවකට රුපියල් 120ක පමණ සාධාරණ මිලක් ලැබෙන අතරම, පාරිභෝගිකයාට ද සහනදායී මිලකට සහල් ලබා දීම අපේ අරමුණයි," යනුවෙන් නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරයා පැවසීය.

රජය විසින් මෝල් හිමියන් කෙරෙහි තැබූ විශ්වාසය මත මෙම පොලී රහිත ණය ලබා දෙන බවත්, එමගින් තම ව්‍යාපාර දියුණු කරගන්නා අතරම ගොවි ජනතාවට උපරිම සහනයක් සැලසීමට ඔවුන් කටයුතු කළ යුතු බවත් ඔහු අවධාරණය කළේය. ඉදිරියේදී ගොවි ජනතාව වෙනුවෙන් තවත් සහන රැසක් ලබා දීමට රජය සූදානම් බව ද ටී.බී. සරත් මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.

Government Introduces Interest-Free Loans to Support Rice Farmers

In a historic first, the Sri Lankan government is set to provide direct benefits from its interest-free loan scheme to rice farmers, as declared by the Deputy Minister of Housing, Construction, and Cultural Affairs, T.B. Sarath.

The minister revealed that major wholesalers have expressed agreements to purchase a metric ton of rice priced at 6,000 rupees per 64 kilos.

He further asserted that these wholesalers are expected to increase the price to 6,800 rupees within the upcoming week.

"The financial support from the government aims to secure the country's national production. Our goal is to ensure that farmers receive a fair price of approximately 120 rupees per kilo for their rice, while also providing consumers with rice at a reasonable price," Sarath emphasized.

Highlighting the trust placed by the government in wholesalers, he confirmed that this interest-free loan would assist them in enhancing their businesses while ensuring maximum relief for farmers. He also indicated that the government is prepared to introduce additional relief measures for farmers in the near future.
