ADB වෙතින් ලොකු ණයක් ගනී.. ඩොලර් මිලියන 400ක්.. (රුපියල් කෝටි 13,000ක්)

මෙරට වෙළඳ හා කර්මාන්ත ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ සංවර්ධනය උදෙසා සහ සුළි කුණාටුවෙන් සිදු වූ හානි ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණය කිරීම සඳහා ආසියානු සංවර්ධන බැංකුව (ADB) විසින් ඇමරිකානු ඩොලර් මිලියන 400ක (එක් ව්‍යාපෘතියකට ඩොලර් මිලියන 200 බැගින්) මූල්‍ය සහායක් ලබා දීමට තීරණය කර තිබේ.

මීට අදාළ ගිවිසුම් අත්සන් කිරීම මුදල්, ක්‍රමසම්පාදන සහ ආර්ථික සංවර්ධන අමාත්‍යාංශයේ ලේකම් ආචාර්ය හර්ෂණ සූරියප්පෙරුම මහතා සහ ආසියානු සංවර්ධන බැංකුවේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා නේවාසික අධ්‍යක්ෂිකා ෂැනන් කේලින් මහත්මිය විසින් (18) කොළඹ පිහිටි මහා භාණ්ඩාගාරයේදී සිදු කරන ලදී.

මෙම මූල්‍ය සහායෙන් ඩොලර් මිලියන 200ක් වෙන් කෙරෙන්නේ ‘වෙළඳ, ආයෝජන සහ කර්මාන්ත සංවර්ධන වැඩසටහනේ’ පළමු අදියර ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම සඳහාය. 2025 ජාතික ප්‍රතිපත්ති රාමුවට අනුකූලව සකස් කර ඇති මෙම වැඩසටහන මගින් ඔරොත්තු දෙන සහ තිරසාර ආර්ථිකයක් ගොඩනැගීම අපේක්ෂා කෙරේ.

මෙහි දෙවන අදියර 2028 වසරේදී ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමට නියමිත අතර ඒ සඳහා තවත් ඩොලර් මිලියන 100ක මූල්‍ය පහසුකමක් ලබා ගැනීමට අපේක්ෂිතය. පවතින ගෝලීය ආර්ථික අවිනිශ්චිතතාව හමුවේ මෙරට අයවැය සහාය සඳහා මෙම ප්‍රතිපත්ති පාදක ණය පහසුකම බෙහෙවින් ඉවහල් වනු ඇත.

ඉතිරි ඩොලර් මිලියන 200ක මුදල වෙන් කර ඇත්තේ සුළි කුණාටුවෙන් පීඩාවට පත් වූ ප්‍රදේශවල යටිතල පහසුකම් නැවත ගොඩනැගීම සහ ජන ජීවිතය යථා තත්ත්වයට පත් කිරීමේ ව්‍යාපෘතිය සඳහාය. 

දේශගුණික විපර්යාස සහ ගෝලීය ආර්ථික අර්බුද හමුවේ ශ්‍රී ලංකාව මුහුණ දෙන අභියෝග ජය ගැනීම සඳහා ආසියානු සංවර්ධන බැංකුව ලබා දෙන මෙම අඛණ්ඩ සහාය මෙරට ආර්ථික ස්ථාවරත්වයට මෙන්ම ආපදාවට පත් ජනතාවට සහනයක් වනු ඇති බව විදේශ සම්පත් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කරයි.

ADB Approves $400 Million Aid for Sri Lanka's Economic Development and Disaster Recovery

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has committed to providing $400 million in financial assistance to bolster the development of Sri Lanka's trade and industry sectors, as well as to aid in the recovery efforts from damages caused by the recent cyclone.

Agreements for this significant funding were signed by Dr. Harsha Suriyapperuma, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, Economic Stabilization, and National Policies, and Shannon Kelain, Director General of ADB’s Sri Lanka Resident Mission, on the 18th at the Central Bank premises in Colombo.

Of the total funds, $200 million is allocated for the initial phase of the "Trade, Investment, and Industrial Development Program." This initiative, designed in line with the National Policy Framework for 2025, aims to foster sustainable economic growth and development.

The second phase of this program is scheduled to be implemented in 2028, with an additional $100 million anticipated for this stage. Given the current global economic uncertainties, this policy-based loan facility will significantly support the country’s budget.

The remaining $200 million is earmarked for projects aimed at reconstructing infrastructure in areas severely affected by the cyclone and restoring the livelihoods of the impacted population.

The continued support from ADB is expected to be crucial for Sri Lanka as it navigates challenges posed by climate change and global economic crises, providing not only economic stability but also relief for those in distress, as noted by the Department of External Resources.
